Bath resealing in Lynton

Bath resealing in Lynton without replacing anything

A good reseal is all about preparation: every bit of old silicone out, mould treated, the joint clean and dry. Only then does the new sealant go on, as one neat, continuous bead. We regularly repair basins & vanity units, baths and shower trays & enclosures, and the jobs we see most are silicone coming away from the tiles and missing sealant behind the taps.

Peace of mind is built in: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Repairs by material

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, to open the joint fully.

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.

Do you need bath resealing in Lynton?

Even good sealant eventually discolours, especially in a busy family bathroom. Steam, soap and movement all take their toll.

If you can see any of these, send us a picture:

  • Sealant that’s split or lifting
  • Silicone smeared on tiles
  • Stained silicone
  • Black spots in the silicone

What to look for in a quote

  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
  • What aftercare is recommended
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long

FAQs for Lynton

What areas do you cover?

We work UK-wide, and that includes Lynton. Prices don’t change with location.

How long does a reseal take?

Most reseals take about two hours. It then needs time to cure.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Generally, yes. Tell us what was done before and we will plan for it.

How much does bath resealing cost in Lynton?

The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from pictures. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.

Is my repair covered?

Yes, for a year. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

When can I use the bath after resealing?

We’ll give you the curing time.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send photos of everything you’d like done.

Is resealing worth it?

Compared with repairing water damage, resealing is cheap. It’s a quick job that protects your walls and floors. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send pictures and we will give you the exact figure.

Prices and what affects them

There is no charge for travel to Lynton. The price comes down to:

  • How hard the colour is to match
  • The type of damage
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • How many items we do on one visit

Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Getting a price from pictures

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • One picture of the entire bath or shower
  • The material, if you know it

The quickest way to a price is to send a couple of photos using our quote form or call us. We’ll say right away whether it can be repaired.

Work for landlords and builders

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

The process

Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so you know exactly what we’re doing. After that, protection goes down around the work area and we start. Allow around two hours, and we will keep you posted as we go.

  1. We protect the area and mask the joint lines.
  2. Old sealant and residue are removed.
  3. We clean, treat and dry the joint.
  4. We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
  5. The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing

Getting a price

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath or shower, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

Looking after it afterwards

Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:

  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Replace the seal when mould sets in
  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Give the seal a regular clean

Run the extractor fan, dry the joints after bathing, and clean them regularly with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Reseal before water gets in. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.
