Bath resealing in Middleton Stoney

How we handle bath resealing in Middleton Stoney

Resealing is quick, but it transforms the look. Fresh joints make the whole room look cleaner, and they keep water out. Our repair technicians work on shower trays & enclosures, baths and wet rooms, and the jobs we see most are mould you can’t clean out and stained silicone.

Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before booking.

The process

On the day, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. The job normally takes about two hours for a bath. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
  2. We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
  3. We clean, treat and dry the joint.
  4. We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
  5. The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access

How we price bath resealing

We charge the same across the UK, including Middleton Stoney. The price reflects:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • How easy the damage is to reach

The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. You will see the full price before booking, with nothing added on the day.

Getting a price from photos

Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • Details of any past repairs
  • One picture of the whole bath or shower
  • The material, if you know it
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

To get a price, send two or three pictures using our quote form or call us. We will tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, so the joint is at its widest.

What a repair cannot fix

It helps to know what we cannot do:

  • A flexing bath
  • Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

Aftercare tips

So the finish stays in good condition:

  • Store bottles on a shelf
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Keep the joints dry

Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, usually around 24 hours.

Black mould in sealant isn’t just unsightly, it’s a sign moisture is sitting in the joint. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.

For landlords and businesses

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Middleton Stoney use us as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

Common questions in Middleton Stoney

What areas do you cover?

We cover the entire UK, including Middleton Stoney and the rest of Oxfordshire. Just include your postcode and we will confirm dates.

How long does silicone take to cure?

We will give you the curing time.

Will the price change on the day?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. The price only changes if you agree.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Generally, yes. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so mention it when you send pictures.

Do you come to Middleton Stoney?

Yes. We work across the UK and come to Middleton Stoney. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.

Can pets and children be at home?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day.

Is there a call-out fee?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

Signs you need bath resealing in Middleton Stoney

Sealant doesn’t last forever. Each shower leaves moisture and soap behind, which mould feeds on, and the joint moves slightly every time the bath is filled.

Send us a photo if you notice any of these:

  • Black spots in the silicone
  • Silicone smeared on tiles
  • Damp near the bath
  • Silicone coming away from the tiles
