Bath & shower resealing (mastic) in Midmar, Aberdeenshire
Bath, shower and sink resealing with new mould-resistant silicone for homes and businesses in Midmar and across Aberdeenshire. Free, fixed quotes from your pictures.
- Old sealant that looks dirty
- Silicone smeared on tiles
- Gaps by the taps

Is resealing worth it?
Putting new silicone over old does not last. It soon peels, and mould stays trapped behind it. We remove the old sealant completely. The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.
What you get with us

How we handle bath resealing in Midmar
We cut out all of the old sealant, deal with any mould, and apply fresh mould-resistant silicone. We reseal baths, showers, sinks and worktops, including the awkward bits behind the taps. Whether it’s black spots in the silicone and old sealant that looks dirty, we can normally put it right.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything is not right, ring us and we’ll come back.

How the visit works
Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so you know exactly what we are doing. Then the area is sheeted and masked and the work begins. It normally takes about two hours for a bath, and we’ll tell you if anything changes.
- We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
- We clean the joint and treat any mould.
- The joint is dried thoroughly.
- For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
- We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, including around the taps.
Preparing for the visit
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access
- Clear the area around the damage
Ask for a price
There’s no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.

Common questions in Midmar
Can you repair several things at once?
Yes. Doing several items on one visit usually costs less than separate visits. Send photos of everything you’d like done.
What happens next?
We come back with a fixed quote, generally with dates to choose from. You are under no obligation.
Is it safe with children and pets around?
Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we’re working in. We will tell you when the room can be used again.
Can you reseal over the old silicone?
All the old sealant comes out. New silicone will not bond to old.
Is there a guarantee?
Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.
Do you work in Midmar?
We do. Technicians travel to Midmar from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.
Do I have to be there?
Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.
How quickly can you book me in?
That depends on our diary for your area. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.

DIY repairs versus a professional job
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
How we price bath resealing
We charge the same across the UK, including Midmar. What changes the price is:
- How easy the damage is to reach
- The size and number of damaged areas
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you’ll get a fixed figure.
Send photos for a quote
Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:
- What it’s made of, if you know
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- Details of any past repairs
To get a price, send two or three pictures through our quote form or call us. We’ll say straight away whether it can be repaired.
For landlords and businesses
Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.
Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.
About our accreditations · Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee.
