What bath resealing costs

Prices are worked out job by job, from your photos. The main factors are:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • What the surface is made of

Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Send photos for a quote

You can typically get a fixed quote without us visiting. To help us price it:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • A photo taken from further back
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the whole bath or shower, include your postcode and send them over. You’ll get a fixed price, not an estimate.

Bath resealing in Minster Lovell, done in place

A reseal is a small job that makes a big difference. Fresh joints make the whole room look cleaner, and they protect the walls and floor. Common call-outs are for silicone smeared on tiles and water getting behind the bath or tray, across kitchen worktops & sinks, basins & vanity units and wet rooms.

Every job is backed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Repairs by material

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, for the same reason.

The process

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, protect the area, and get on with the job, which normally takes a couple of hours. If we find something your pictures didn’t show, we will explain it before carrying on.

  1. First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
  2. We clean the joint and treat any mould.
  3. The joint is dried thoroughly.
  4. We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
  5. We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, including around the taps.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

Getting a price

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them over with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed price back. There is no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.

Advice

Work for landlords and builders

For anyone letting property in or around Minster Lovell, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send pictures for each address and we will come back with a combined price.

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, photos and access details and we will arrange it.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

When to call us in Minster Lovell

Black mould is the most common reason people reseal. It grows into the sealant itself, so cleaning can’t get it all out.

You may need us if you’ve spotted:

  • Silicone coming away from the tiles
  • An untidy old seal
  • Missing sealant behind the taps
  • Stained silicone

What to look for in a quote

  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • Whether cleaning and preparation are in the price
  • How long it needs to cure
  • What aftercare is recommended

How to compare quotes

Keeping it looking good

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Use the extractor fan
  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Wipe the joints dry after use

Do not scrape the sealant with anything sharp, and do not stand bottles on the seal.

Black mould in sealant isn’t just unsightly, it’s a sign moisture is sitting in the joint. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.

Why reseal now?

Resealing is routine maintenance. Leaving split or mouldy sealant can let water reach the walls and floor, which costs far more to put right. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.
