When a repair is not the answer

Not everything can be repaired, and we would rather say so up front. We can’t fix:

  • Gaps too big for silicone alone
  • Hollow or loose tiles
  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Wet rooms
  • Baths
  • Basins & vanity units

Bath resealing in Much Hoole, done in place

A reseal is a small job that makes a big difference. Clean, white joints make a bathroom look cared for, and they protect the walls and floor. Our repair technicians work on wet rooms, kitchen worktops & sinks and baths, and people most frequently call us about discoloured, yellow sealant and an untidy old seal.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything is not right, ring us and we’ll sort it.

What we do, step by step

You don’t need to empty the room. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and get going once we’ve agreed what we’re doing. Most jobs take around two hours, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
  2. We clean the joint and treat any mould.
  3. We make sure the joint is completely dry.
  4. Baths are filled with water first, so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, including around the taps.

Preparing for the visit

  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children

For landlords and businesses

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we’ll arrange it.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

What affects the price in Much Hoole

A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We take into account:

  • How much damage there is
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • The material and finish

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

How to get a fixed price

The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three photos through our quote form or call us. We will tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.

Why it’s worth resealing in Much Hoole

Putting new silicone over old doesn’t last. It soon peels, and traps mould underneath. A proper reseal removes the old first. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

What you get with us

  • No need to remove anything
  • Same prices wherever you are
  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • Free fixed quotes from pictures

Can I fix it myself?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
