Bath resealing in Nassington

How we handle bath resealing in Nassington

A fresh seal protects your bathroom. Failed sealant lets water get where it shouldn’t, and resealing puts a stop to that. We’re frequently asked to fix missing sealant behind the taps and black spots in the silicone, in wet rooms, baths and basins & vanity units.

You’re covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before you book.

Prices and what affects them

Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • The material

There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

How to get a fixed quote

Photographing the damage takes a minute. Try to send:

  • A wider photo showing the entire bath or shower
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

You don’t need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Work for landlords and builders

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so we keep visits short and tidy. We’ll fit around changeovers where we can.

Letting agents often send us photos straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Why reseal now?

Resealing costs very little. Failed sealant can lead to water damage that is much more expensive. Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Why us?

  • Same prices wherever you are
  • Everything repaired in place
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year

The process

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and get going once we have agreed what we are doing. It generally takes around two hours, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
  2. We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
  3. The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
  4. We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
  5. We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Let us know which floor the room is on

What a repair can’t fix

It helps to know what we can’t do:

  • Gaps too big for silicone alone
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Materials we repair

  • Wet rooms
  • Baths
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Shower trays & enclosures

Repairs by material

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest.

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.

When to call us in Nassington

Most reseals are because of black mould. It grows into the sealant itself, so cleaning can’t get it all out.

Send us a picture if you notice any of these:

  • Old sealant that looks dirty
  • Leaks at the edges
  • Silicone smeared on tiles
  • Gaps in the seal

What your quote should include

  • When it can be used again
  • Whether a trained technician does the job
  • How your room will be protected
  • How the colour is matched

How quickly can you book me in?

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit and until it has cured. The rest of the house is unaffected.

Are you accredited?

What happens next?

Is a repair better than a new one?
