Trusted bath resealing in Newbridge

Landlord and trade work in Newbridge

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

Bath resealing in Newbridge, done in place

A good reseal is all about preparation: old silicone removed, mould treated, the joint cleaned and dried. Only then does the new sealant go on, in a neat, continuous bead. We’re frequently asked to fix sealant that’s split or lifting and unsealed corners, on basins & vanity units, kitchen worktops & sinks and wet rooms.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you’re covered after the visit.

Keeping it looking good

Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:

  • Ventilate the bathroom well
  • Wipe the joints dry after use
  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting
  • Give the seal a regular clean

Don’t scrape the sealant with anything sharp, and do not stand bottles on the seal.

Black mould in sealant isn’t just unsightly; it shows moisture is getting in. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.

Repairs by material

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest.

Common questions in Newbridge

What happens if you find more damage?

The price is fixed for what the pictures show. If there is more, we’ll tell you before starting.

Is the work guaranteed?

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.

What does bath resealing cost?

Every job gets a fixed price from your photos. Send a close-up and a photo of the entire item with your PO41 postcode.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Landlords are frequently glad to have it sorted before the end of a tenancy.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Usually, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we will say so.

How long does a reseal take?

A bath or shower usually takes a couple of hours. Leave it to cure before use.

Are you a vetted contractor?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Why does mould come back so fast?

Mould needs moisture. Ventilation and drying keep it clean longer.

Resealing in Newbridge: why it matters

Resealing is routine maintenance. Putting off a reseal can let water reach the walls and floor, which costs far more to put right. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

Why Newbridge customers choose us

  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • No extra charge for your area
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Straight answers about what a repair can do

When a repair is not the answer

We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair can’t fix:

  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Basins & vanity units
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Wet rooms
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Baths

What happens on the day

We work cleanly and quietly, so you can carry on at home. Protection goes down first, then the work takes about two hours for a bath. At the end we talk you through how soon it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
  2. We clean the joint and treat any mould.
  3. We ensure the joint is completely dry.
  4. For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone goes on and is tooled to a neat finish, including around the taps.

Prices and what affects them

There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • The material and finish
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

Send photos for a quote

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • The material, if you know it

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us pictures through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job the same day in most cases.

Can I fix it myself?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
