Bath resealing at your home in Newman's End
The key to a good reseal is getting all of the old silicone out. Fresh sealant does not stick to old, which is why so many DIY reseals peel. Whether it’s missing sealant behind the taps and stained silicone, we can usually put it right, on baths, basins & vanity units and kitchen worktops & sinks alike.
A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you are not left on your own once we’ve gone.

Common questions in Newman's End
Do you cover Newman's End?
Yes. We work across the UK and come to Newman's End and the rest of Essex. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
Usually, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.
When can I use the bath after resealing?
We will give you the curing time.
Why does mould come back so fast?
Damp is the cause. Run the fan, dry the joints and the new seal stays cleaner for longer.
Do you cover the whole of Essex?
Across the UK, and that includes Newman's End. Our prices are the same everywhere.
Can you redo someone else’s repair?
In most cases. The old repair comes out first, so let us know about it.
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
Normally, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we will say so.
My seal keeps tearing. Why?
Something is moving. Persistent splitting can mean the support needs attention.
The process
Once we are through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the work takes around two hours, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.
- The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
- Old sealant and residue are removed.
- The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
- We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
- We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.
How to prepare
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath or shower, add your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.
Advice
Can I fix it myself?
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.
Is resealing worth it?
A professional reseal costs little compared with water damage. It’s quick, tidy and protects your home. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.

How we price bath resealing
There’s no area surcharge for Newman's End. What changes the price is:
- Access to the area
- Whether we combine several jobs
- The material and finish
- How many areas need work
Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Newman's End. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
Quotes from your pictures
Before you send pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- One picture of the entire bath or shower
- What it’s made of, if you know
- Details of any past repairs
We price from pictures so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through.
What a repair cannot fix
It helps to know what we can’t do:
- Movement in the bath or tray
- Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
- Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Keeping it looking good
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Air the room after use
- Use the extractor fan
- Reseal at the first sign of lifting
- Do not stand toiletries on the seal
Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, normally around 24 hours.
If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. There may be more going on, so we will tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.
