Bath resealing at your home in Olney

We reseal baths with them filled with water, so the joint opens fully, so the seal does not tear when the bath is first used. Our technicians work on wet rooms, basins & vanity units and kitchen worktops & sinks, and the jobs we see most are gaps in the seal and old sealant that looks dirty.

You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything is not right, ring us and we’ll come back.

Can I fix it myself?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

Is resealing worth it?

A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is, and it protects everything around the bath. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Olney: your questions answered

Do you seal over the old sealant?

All the old sealant comes out. Fresh silicone doesn’t stick to old.

Is the work guaranteed?

Yes, for a year. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

When can I use the bath after resealing?

Normally after around 24 hours. We confirm before we leave.

How quickly can you book me in?

Your quote comes with available dates. If it’s urgent, say so and we will do what we can.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit usually costs less than separate visits. Send photos of everything you’d like done.

Will you leave a mess?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.

Is there any odour?

It depends on the job, but often a little. Open windows and an extractor fan help.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Olney

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, putting right damage done during fitting so nothing needs replacing. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.

Do you need bath resealing in Olney?

Most reseals are because of black mould. It grows into the sealant itself, so cleaning cannot get it all out.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • Unsealed corners
  • A messy previous reseal
  • Black spots in the silicone
  • Leaks at the edges

10 questions to ask before booking

How we price bath resealing

There’s no charge for travel to Olney. The price comes down to:

  • Access to the area
  • How many areas need work
  • The type of damage
  • The material and finish

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Olney. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Quotes from your photos

The better the photos, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and you will get a fixed price back. There’s no charge for the quote and no obligation.

When a repair is not the answer

We’d rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so here’s what a repair can’t put right:

  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
  • Hidden water damage
  • A flexing bath

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Baths
  • Wet rooms
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Basins & vanity units

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, once the joint is completely dry.

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.

The process

We agree an arrival time beforehand, so you’re not left guessing. Once we’re there, the work takes a couple of hours for most jobs. The room is left tidy and ready to use once it has cured.

  1. We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
  2. The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
  3. We make sure the joint is completely dry.
  4. We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
  5. We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, including around the taps.

How to prepare

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Make sure the area is dry

Ask for a price

You don’t need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.
