Your questions about bath resealing in Milton Keynes

Which areas do you work in?

We work UK-wide, and that includes Milton Keynes. Prices do not change with location.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

Typically, yes. Clear photos let us give you a fixed quote without visiting.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

We’re happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

My seal keeps tearing. Why?

Movement is the usual cause, or it was sealed with the bath empty. We fill the bath before sealing it.

Can landlords book you?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders across Milton Keynes.

How much does bath resealing cost in Milton Keynes?

The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from photos. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

What happens after I send pictures?

You get a fixed price and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.

Will it make a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.

About our bath resealing in Milton Keynes

A proper reseal starts with removing every trace of the old silicone. New silicone won’t bond to old, which is why many DIY jobs peel. We regularly repair shower trays & enclosures, kitchen worktops & sinks and basins & vanity units, and common reasons people get in touch are a messy previous reseal and mould you can’t clean out.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

Why it’s worth resealing in Milton Keynes

A professional reseal costs little compared with water damage. It’s a quick job that protects your walls and floors. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

What you get with us

How the visit works

We turn up when we said we would, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your pictures first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. Most visits take about two hours for a bath, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
  2. We clean the joint and treat any mould.
  3. The joint is dried thoroughly.
  4. We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
  5. We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, taps included.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Ensure the area is dry
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

How we price bath resealing

Each job gets its own fixed quote. This is what makes a difference:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Send pictures for a quote

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • A photo taken from further back
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them over with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price. Quotes are free and you are under no obligation.

What we are called out for in Milton Keynes

A bathroom without good ventilation is hard on sealant: moisture sits on the joints longer, and mould takes hold.

Get in touch if you’ve noticed:

  • A messy previous reseal
  • Old sealant that looks dirty
  • Water getting behind the bath or tray
  • Black mould in the sealant

Before you book anyone

  • If travel is included in the price
  • Aftercare advice
  • When it can be used again
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show

Choosing a repair company

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, once the joint is completely dry.

Aftercare tips

A little care keeps the finish looking good. We recommend:

  • Replace the seal when mould sets in
  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Let steam out after showers
  • Keep the joints dry

Don’t scrape the sealant with anything sharp, and do not stand bottles on the seal.

Reseal before water gets in. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

DIY kit or professional repair?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.
