How we handle bath resealing in Onesacre
The key to a good reseal is getting all of the old silicone out. Fresh sealant does not stick to old, which is why many DIY jobs peel. Whether it’s discoloured, yellow sealant and gaps in the seal, we can typically put it right.
All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months. We return to put right any problem with the work.

FAQs for Onesacre
Are there extra charges for Onesacre?
There is no separate call-out charge. Your fixed quote includes everything.
Can tenants book a repair?
We’re happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Just ensure the landlord agrees.
Are you a vetted contractor?
Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.
Why does the silicone keep cracking?
The bath or tray is probably flexing. If it keeps happening, the support may need fixing.
What if the damage is worse than the photos show?
We’ll show you and explain before doing anything extra. You will not be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.
Do you cover the whole of Sheffield?
We cover the whole UK, including Onesacre and the rest of Sheffield. Just include your postcode and we’ll offer you dates.
Do I need to be at home?
We need someone to let us in. You do not need to watch us work.
Can you repair something that’s been repaired before?
Most of the time. Tell us what was done before and we’ll plan for it.
DIY repairs versus a professional job
What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
The process
We agree an arrival time beforehand, so you know when to expect us. Once we’re there, the work takes a couple of hours for most jobs. The room is left tidy and you’ll know when it can be used.
- All the old sealant is cut out and removed.
- Next we clean the joint and deal with mould.
- We make sure the joint is completely dry.
- For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
- We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, including around the taps.
Preparing for the visit
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
- Open a window if you can
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
Get a quote
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath or shower, include your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.
Advice
Landlords, agents and businesses in Onesacre
If you manage property in Onesacre, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send photos for each one and we will price them together.
Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.
What your bath or shower is made of matters
Baths
We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.
Sinks and worktops
Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.
How to care for the repair
So the finish stays in good condition for years:
- Air the room after use
- Use the extractor fan
- Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
- Keep the joints dry
Keep the room well ventilated, and wipe the joints after use so mould struggles to take hold.
Reseal before water gets in. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

- Missing sealant behind the taps

Why it’s worth resealing in Onesacre
Resealing costs very little. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. A repair usually costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send photos and we will give you the exact figure.
