Bath resealing at your home in Oxenhope

We cut out all of the old sealant, deal with any mould, and apply fresh mould-resistant silicone. We reseal baths, showers, sinks and worktops, including the awkward bits behind the taps. We’re frequently asked to fix water getting behind the bath or tray and silicone coming away from the tiles, on shower trays & enclosures, kitchen worktops & sinks and baths.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there is a problem and we will sort it.

Repairs by material

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.

How it works

On the day, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job typically takes about two hours for a bath. We clean up when we are done and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. The old silicone is cut out completely.
  2. We remove the residue and clean the joint.
  3. We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
  5. We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.

Before we arrive

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

Getting a price

How we price bath resealing

A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We take into account:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • What the surface is made of
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Unusual colours or finishes

Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

How to get a fixed price

Phone pictures are fine. Ensure they show:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Details of any past repairs
  • One picture of the entire bath or shower

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job the same day in most cases.

When to call us in Oxenhope

No sealant lasts for ever. Each shower leaves moisture and soap behind, which mould feeds on, and the joint moves slightly every time the bath is filled.

People usually call us after spotting something like this:

  • Mould you can’t clean out
  • Water getting behind the bath or tray
  • A messy previous reseal
  • Silicone coming away from the tiles

Before you book anyone

  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers
  • How your room will be protected
  • What aftercare is recommended
  • When it can be used again

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.

Why reseal now?

Resealing is a small job. Leaving split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and that damage costs much more to fix. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

What you get with us

  • No extra charge for your area
  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
  • No need to remove anything

Your questions about bath resealing in Oxenhope

Can you reseal over the old silicone?

We always remove the old sealant completely. Fresh silicone does not stick to old.

How long does a reseal take?

A bath or shower generally takes a couple of hours. Leave it to cure before use.

Will you leave a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.

What information do you need?

Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we will take it from there.

How soon can you come?

Your quote comes with available dates. If it’s urgent, say so and we will do what we can.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

Does someone need to be in?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You don’t need to watch us work.

How long before I can shower?

You’ll get the curing time from us.

How to look after the repair

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Clean the sealant gently and regularly
  • Reseal when black spots will not clean off
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Store bottles on a shelf

Do not scrape the sealant with anything sharp, and don’t stand bottles on the seal.

Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.
