Bath & shower resealing (mastic) in Penymynydd, Flintshire
We travel to Penymynydd for bath, shower and sink resealing with new mould-resistant silicone. Everything is done in place, with a one-year guarantee.

- A messy previous reseal

About our bath resealing in Penymynydd
Preparation is everything in a reseal: every bit of old silicone out, mould treated, the joint clean and dry. Then the fresh sealant goes on, in a neat, continuous bead. We’re frequently asked to fix damp near the bath and gaps in the seal, on baths, wet rooms and kitchen worktops & sinks.
The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything is not right, ring us and we’ll sort it.

The process
You do not need to empty the room. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and start once you’re happy with the plan. It normally takes around two hours, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.
- We protect the area and mask the joint lines.
- We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
- The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
- Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
- The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.

Looking after it afterwards
Nothing complicated is needed:
- Reseal at the first sign of lifting
- Keep bottles off the joints
- Open a window after bathing
- Keep the joints dry
Keep the room well ventilated, and wipe the joints after use so mould struggles to take hold.
Reseal before water gets in. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.
Repairs by material
Shower trays
We put weight on a tray before sealing it, for the same reason.
Sinks and worktops
Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, once the joint is completely dry.

Penymynydd questions
Do I need to be at home?
We need someone to let us in. You do not need to watch us work.
Is there any odour?
Expect a mild smell while we are working, which fades afterwards.
Can you do more than one item on the same visit?
Of course, and it typically saves money. Send pictures of everything together and you will get one combined price.
Can you price it without visiting?
Generally, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.
Can pets and children be at home?
Just keep them out of the work area. We will let you know when it’s safe to use again.
How long does resealing take?
Around two hours for a bath, plus curing time.
Is a repair better than a new one?
Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you.
Will you leave a mess?
Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.
For landlords and businesses
We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Flintshire and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.
We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

When we’d advise against a repair
Not everything can be repaired, and we will tell you before we start. We cannot fix:
- Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
- Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
- A flexing bath
Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before booking.
Materials we work on in Penymynydd
- Baths
- Wet rooms
- Kitchen worktops & sinks
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Basins & vanity units
Can I fix it myself?
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
Prices and what affects them
You will know the full cost before booking. We look at:
- The colour and finish to match
- The type of damage
- The material
- Doing more than one item at once
We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Penymynydd. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.
Send pictures for a quote
You can generally get a fixed quote without us visiting. To make it quick:
- A photo taken from further back
- Any details about the material
- Where you are, by postcode
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
For a price in Penymynydd, photos are the quickest way: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. You will get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.
