About our bath resealing in Pont-iets

We cut out all of the old sealant, treat any mould, and apply fresh mould-resistant silicone. We do this for baths, showers, sinks and worktops, and that includes the awkward spots behind the taps. Common call-outs are for gaps in the seal and an untidy old seal, in wet rooms, basins & vanity units and baths.

Big or small, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee.

Pont-iets: your questions answered

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.

How long does resealing take?

Generally a couple of hours, then it needs to cure.

What areas do you cover?

Across the UK, so Pont-iets is covered. Our prices are the same everywhere.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged before the end of a tenancy.

Are you accredited?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Why does my sealant keep going mouldy?

Usually poor ventilation and moisture sitting on the joint. Mould-resistant silicone and good ventilation help.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Just keep them out of the work area. We will let you know when it’s safe to use again.

What happens once I’ve sent pictures?

You get a fixed price and available dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.

What a repair cannot fix

A repair isn’t always the answer, and we would rather say so up front. Repairs won’t solve:

  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before booking.

What we work on

  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Baths
  • Wet rooms

Landlord and trade work in Pont-iets

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Pont-iets as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.

Letting agents frequently send us photos straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

DIY kit or professional repair?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.

What bath resealing costs

We price every job individually. The main factors are:

  • The type of damage
  • Access to the area
  • The material and finish
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Pont-iets. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Quotes from your photos

When you take your pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath or shower

You do not need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

Resealing in Pont-iets: why it matters

Putting new silicone over old doesn’t last. It peels within weeks, and mould stays trapped behind it. A proper reseal removes the old first. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before booking, with nothing added on the day.

Why us?

  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • Everything repaired in place
  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited
  • Repair technicians who travel to you, UK-wide

How the visit works

There’s not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we’ll get on with it. The job generally runs to about two hours for a bath, including clearing up.

  1. We protect the area and mask the joint lines.
  2. Old sealant and residue are removed.
  3. We clean, treat and dry the joint.
  4. Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
  5. The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
