What affects the price in Pontamman

We price every job individually. What matters most is:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • What kind of damage it is
  • How many items we do on one visit

The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book.

Quotes from your pictures

The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what helps:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Details of any past repairs
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the whole bath or shower, we can give you a fixed quote without visiting.

Bath resealing in Pontamman without replacing anything

We reseal baths with them filled with water, so the joint is at its widest, which stops the new seal tearing the first time the bath is used. Typical jobs include damp near the bath and a messy previous reseal, in baths, basins & vanity units and kitchen worktops & sinks.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. Just call us if there’s a problem and we will come back.

FAQs for Pontamman

My seal keeps tearing. Why?

Movement is the usual cause, or it was sealed with the bath empty. We seal baths full of water.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.

Will it make a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we’ve finished.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Yes, we often do. Removing the old work can add time, and that’s in the quote.

Do you cover Pontamman?

We do. We send a technician to Pontamman for every job, with no extra charge for travel.

What happens if you find more damage?

If we find something the pictures didn’t show, we explain it first. You decide whether to go ahead.

Can tenants book a repair?

We’re happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Just ensure the landlord agrees.

How long before I can shower?

Usually after around 24 hours. We confirm before we leave.

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, once the joint is completely dry.

How to compare quotes

How it works

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and clear up. Plan for about two hours for a bath. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Clear the area around the damage

How to get a price

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them to us with your postcode, and you will get a fixed quote back. There is no charge for the quote and you are under no obligation.

Related advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Work for landlords and builders

Letting agents often send us pictures straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, photos and access details.

Looking after it afterwards

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Air the room after use
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Wipe the joints dry after use
  • Store bottles on a shelf

Run the extractor fan, dry the joints after bathing, and clean them regularly with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. It may be more than a reseal, so we’ll tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.

Resealing in Pontamman: why it matters

Resealing is a small job. Leaving split or mouldy sealant can let water reach the walls and floor, which costs far more to put right. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.
