Trusted bath resealing in Box

For landlords and businesses

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Bath resealing in Box, done in place

All of the old sealant is cut out, deal with any mould, and apply fresh mould-resistant silicone. We reseal baths, showers, sinks and worktops, including the awkward bits behind the taps. Our technicians work on shower trays & enclosures, kitchen worktops & sinks and basins & vanity units, and people most frequently call us about discoloured, yellow sealant and mould you can’t clean out.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you are not left on your own once we have gone.

When we’d advise against a repair

Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits:

  • Hidden water damage
  • A flexing bath
  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

When to call us in Box

Sealant doesn’t last forever. Each shower leaves moisture and soap behind, which mould loves, and the joint moves slightly every time the bath is filled.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • Black mould in the sealant
  • Gaps by the taps
  • Silicone smeared on tiles
  • Old sealant that looks dirty

Questions to ask before you book

  • A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers
  • When it can be used again
  • Who will actually do the work

FAQs for Box

Do you do work for letting agents?

We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

Do I need to be at home?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You don’t need to watch us work.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send photos of everything you’d like done.

What information do you need?

Some photos, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, we only need access to the room.

How do I stop mould in sealant?

Usually poor ventilation and moisture sitting on the joint. We use mould-resistant silicone, and ventilation helps it last.

How soon can you come?

That depends on our diary for your area. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.

How long does resealing take?

Around two hours for a bath, plus curing time.

Is repairing better than replacing?

Generally, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.

Keeping it looking good

Nothing complicated is needed, just a few sensible habits:

  • Clean the sealant gently and regularly
  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Replace the seal when mould sets in
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers

Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, normally about a day.

Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. There may be more going on, so we’ll tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.

Why reseal now?

Sealing over old silicone is a false economy. It soon peels, and traps mould underneath. A proper reseal removes the old first. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is usually a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Why us?

  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish

How it works

We turn up at the time we agreed with you and checks the damage against your photos first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before we open a single tin. The work itself takes about two hours for a bath, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. All the old sealant is cut out and removed.
  2. We clean the joint and treat any mould.
  3. We ensure the joint is completely dry.
  4. For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone goes on and is tooled to a neat finish, taps included.

Preparing for the visit

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Have a window or extractor fan available

How to get a price
