Bath Resealing in Porkellis
Fixed-price bath resealing in Porkellis and the surrounding area, done in a single visit in most cases.
- Old sealant that looks dirty
- Silicone coming away from the tiles
- Gaps by the taps

About our bath resealing in Porkellis
Resealing is one of the simplest ways to protect your bathroom. Old, split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and resealing puts a stop to that. If you’re dealing with stained silicone and black spots in the silicone, we can typically put it right.
All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

What a repair cannot fix
Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits:
- Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
- Gaps too big for silicone alone
- Tiles that move, until they’re refixed

Should I try a DIY kit first?
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
Keeping it looking good
Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:
- Reseal when black spots will not clean off
- Keep the joints dry
- Open a window after bathing
- Do not stand toiletries on the seal
Do not scrape the sealant with anything sharp, and don’t stand bottles on the seal.
Black mould in sealant isn’t just unsightly, it’s a sign moisture is sitting in the joint. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.
Prices and what affects them
Each job gets its own fixed quote. This is what makes a difference:
- The type of damage
- How much damage there is
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- Access to the area
Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.
Send pictures for a quote
Phone pictures are fine. Just make sure we can see:
- A wider photo showing the whole bath or shower
- Something in shot to show the size
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- Any details about the material
Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them to us with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed price back. Quotes are free and no obligation.
Porkellis: your questions answered
Is repairing better than replacing?
Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it is not worth repairing, we’ll tell you.
Do you do work for letting agents?
Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as homeowners across Cornwall.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
Generally, yes. Tell us what was done before.
Which areas do you work in?
All of Cornwall, and the rest of the UK. Travel is included in the price.
Is there any odour?
There can be some smell while we work, which is why we ventilate. It fades as everything cures.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
Typically, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.
Will it make a mess?
We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we have finished.
How do I book?
Some photos, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, access to the room.
What we do, step by step
Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and start once you are happy with the plan. It normally takes around two hours, and you can get on with other things while we are there.
- The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
- We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
- We clean, treat and dry the joint.
- Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
- We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.
Preparing for the visit
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access
- Ensure the room can be ventilated
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
Ask for a price
Most clients in Porkellis get their price from pictures. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll send back a fixed quote and some dates.
