Trusted bath resealing in Queen Street

Bath resealing in Queen Street without replacing anything

A good reseal is all about preparation: old silicone removed, mould treated, the joint cleaned and dried. Only then does the new sealant go on, in a neat, continuous bead. Whether it’s silicone smeared on tiles and old sealant that looks dirty, we can normally put it right, on shower trays & enclosures, basins & vanity units and kitchen worktops & sinks alike.

We guarantee the work for a year. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right.

How it works

We work cleanly and quietly, so you can stay at home while we’re there. Protection goes down first, then the work takes a couple of hours. Before we leave, we explain the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. All the old sealant is cut out and removed.
  2. The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
  3. We ensure the joint is completely dry.
  4. For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone goes on and is tooled to a neat finish, including around the taps.

Before we arrive

  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing

When a repair is not the answer

In fairness, some problems need a different fix:

  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first
  • Very wide gaps that need a trim
  • A flexing bath

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Baths
  • Wet rooms
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Shower trays & enclosures

DIY kit or professional repair?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, once the joint is completely dry.

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, to open the joint fully.

Aftercare tips

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Do not stand toiletries on the seal
  • Ventilate the bathroom well
  • Air the room after use
  • Keep the joints dry

Run the extractor fan, dry the joints after bathing, and clean them regularly with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Do not wait until water gets behind the bath. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

Resealing in Queen Street: why it matters

Common questions in Queen Street

Do you seal over the old sealant?

Never over old. It’s removed, cleaned off and the joint dried first.

Can I get a quote without a visit?

In nearly every case. If photos don’t show enough, we will ask for another angle.

When can I use the bath after resealing?

We will give you the curing time, normally around a day.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Do you work in Queen Street?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to Queen Street for every job, with no extra charge for travel.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Just add the extra items to your pictures and you’ll get one combined price.

When can you do it?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send pictures with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.

Are there extra charges for Queen Street?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.

What bath resealing costs

Every quote is fixed and free. What we take into account:

  • How many areas need work
  • What the surface is made of
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Whether we combine several jobs

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Quotes from your pictures

Two or three clear pictures are typically enough. Try to include:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Details of any past repairs
  • One picture of the whole bath or shower
  • Where you are, by postcode

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them to us with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed price back. Quotes are free and you are under no obligation.
