The process

We agree an arrival time beforehand, so you’re not left guessing. Once we’re there, the work takes around two hours. We leave the room clean.

  1. We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
  2. The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
  3. The joint is dried thoroughly.
  4. We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone goes on and is tooled to a neat finish, including around the taps.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

Bath resealing in Radway Green, done in place

The key to a good reseal is getting all of the old silicone out. Fresh sealant does not stick to old, which is why so many DIY reseals peel. Whether it’s discoloured, yellow sealant and missing sealant behind the taps, we can usually put it right, on basins & vanity units, shower trays & enclosures and kitchen worktops & sinks alike.

Every job is backed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Resealing in Radway Green: why it matters

Resealing is routine maintenance. Leaving split or mouldy sealant can let water reach the walls and floor, and that damage costs much more to fix. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is usually a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Why us?

  • How many areas need work
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Whether we combine several jobs

Phone photos are fine. Ensure they show:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage

Radway Green questions

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Do you come to Radway Green?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to Radway Green for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Can landlords book you?

Yes, often. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Can tenants book a repair?

We’re happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

Why does mould come back so fast?

Damp is the cause. Run the fan, dry the joints and the new seal stays cleaner for longer.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit typically costs less than separate visits. Send photos of everything you’d like done.

Is it messy?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.

Can I fix it myself?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.

Signs you need bath resealing in Radway Green

Joints split if the bath or tray moves, often because it was sealed with the bath empty.

  • Damp near the bath
  • Old sealant that looks dirty
  • Black mould in the sealant
  • Gaps in the seal

What your quote should include

  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • How soon you can use it again
  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers
  • Whether a trained technician does the job

Our hiring checklist

Honest limits

A repair is not always the answer, and we’ll tell you before we start. We cannot fix:

  • Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

Materials we repair

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Baths
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Wet rooms
  • Basins & vanity units

How to look after the repair

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting
  • Dry the seal after bathing
  • Don’t stand toiletries on the seal

Use the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and clean them regularly with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem, it’s a sign moisture is sitting in the joint. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.
