Bath & shower resealing (mastic) in Renton, West Dunbartonshire
Bath resealing across Renton and nearby, usually in one visit.
- Sealant that is split or lifting
- Leaks at the edges
- Unsealed corners

How we handle bath resealing in Renton
Resealing is one of the simplest ways to protect your bathroom. Old, split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and a new seal stops it. Typical jobs include discoloured, yellow sealant and an untidy old seal, across wet rooms, baths and kitchen worktops & sinks.
We guarantee the work for a year. If something is not right in that time, we come back and put it right.

When we’d advise against a repair
Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:
- Gaps too big for silicone alone
- Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
- Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before you book.
Surfaces we repair
- Wet rooms
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Kitchen worktops & sinks
- Basins & vanity units
- Baths
Aftercare tips
After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:
- Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
- Ventilate the bathroom well
- Replace the seal when mould sets in
- Wipe the joints dry after use
Good ventilation is the best protection, and dry the joints after bathing.
Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem, it’s a sign moisture is sitting in the joint. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.

Common questions in Renton
When can you do it?
That depends on our diary for your area. Send pictures with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.
Are there extra charges for Renton?
Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.
Is it safe with children and pets around?
We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. The rest of the house is unaffected.
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
Usually, when the rest is in good condition. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we will say so.
Can you redo someone else’s repair?
Most of the time. Let us know what was used before and we’ll plan for it.
Does someone need to be in?
Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Yes. Doing several items on one visit normally costs less than separate visits. Include photos of each item.
Do you do work for letting agents?
We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.
Work for landlords and builders
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.
If you manage property in Renton, we’ll quote for several properties at once. Send pictures for each one and we’ll come back with a combined price.
Why it’s worth resealing in Renton
A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is, and it protects everything around the bath. Failed sealant can lead to water damage that is much more expensive. Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

What else we do in Renton
Different materials, different repairs
Sinks and worktops
Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.
Shower trays
Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.
Can I fix it myself?
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
Prices and what affects them
We price every job individually. What matters most is:
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- The material and finish
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- Doing more than one item at once
The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. You’ll see the full price before booking.
Send pictures for a quote
Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:
- Details of any past repairs
- A wider photo showing the whole bath or shower
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- Natural light rather than flash
You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.
The process
There is not much you need to do on the day. Let us in and show us the room, and we will take it from there. The job generally runs to about two hours for a bath, tidy-up included.
- The old silicone is cut out completely.
- We remove the residue and clean the joint.
- Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
- We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
- We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.
Getting ready for the visit
- Have a window or extractor fan available
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
Ask for a price
No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.
