Your questions about bath resealing in Rhos-on-Sea

Why does mould come back so fast?

Mostly moisture and poor ventilation. Mould-resistant silicone and good ventilation help.

Can pets and children be at home?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.

Will there be a smell?

There may be a mild smell during the work, which fades afterwards.

Do you hold any accreditations?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Does someone need to be in?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

Which areas do you work in?

We work UK-wide. Our prices are the same everywhere.

Do you charge for travel?

There’s no separate call-out charge. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Of course, and it typically saves money. Just add the extra items to your pictures and we’ll quote them together.

About our bath resealing in Rhos-on-Sea

A good reseal is all about preparation: old silicone removed, mould treated, the joint cleaned and dried. Only then does the new sealant go on, in a neat, continuous bead. If you’re dealing with gaps in the seal and black spots in the silicone, we can normally put it right, on baths, kitchen worktops & sinks and basins & vanity units alike.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

How it works

Once we’re through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. We mask off everything nearby, the work takes about two hours for a bath, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
  2. We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
  3. We clean, treat and dry the joint.
  4. We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
  5. We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Ensure the area is dry
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

What affects the price in Rhos-on-Sea

Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • The colour and finish to match
  • The material

A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

How to get a fixed quote

Good photos mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath or shower
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

To get a price, send two or three pictures through our quote form or ring us. We’ll say straight away whether it can be repaired.

Do you need bath resealing in Rhos-on-Sea?

Joints split if the bath or tray moves, often because it was sealed while the bath was empty.

Keep an eye out for any of the following:

  • Sealant that’s split or lifting
  • Unsealed corners
  • An untidy old seal
  • Mould you can’t clean out

What to look for in a quote

  • How to care for the finish
  • How long it needs to cure
  • What protection goes down before work starts
  • How the colour is matched

Our hiring checklist

Looking after it afterwards

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Ventilate the bathroom well
  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting
  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Do not stand toiletries on the seal

Run the extractor fan, dry the joints after bathing, and clean them regularly with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem, it’s a sign moisture is sitting in the joint. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.

What your bath or shower is made of matters

What a repair can’t fix

Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits:

  • Hollow or loose tiles
  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
  • Gaps too big for silicone alone

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Wet rooms
  • Baths
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Basins & vanity units

Is resealing worth it?

Putting new silicone over old doesn’t last. It peels within weeks, and mould stays trapped behind it. We remove the old sealant completely. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. You’ll see the full price before booking, with nothing added on the day.

Why Rhos-on-Sea clients choose us

  • We leave the room as we found it
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job
  • Same prices wherever you are
  • Work done at your home or business

See our prices page.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.
