FAQs for Conwy

How long does silicone take to cure?

Usually after around 24 hours. We’ll tell you the exact time.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit generally costs less than separate visits. Send photos of everything you’d like done.

Do you charge for travel?

No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.

How quickly can you book me in?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send photos with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it is not worth repairing, we will tell you.

What do you need from me?

Some pictures, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, access to the room.

Why does my sealant keep splitting?

Movement is the usual cause, or it was sealed with the bath empty. We seal baths full of water.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

Bath resealing in Conwy, done in place

A fresh seal protects your bathroom. Failed sealant lets water get where it shouldn’t, and resealing puts a stop to that. Our repair technicians work on kitchen worktops & sinks, shower trays & enclosures and basins & vanity units, and people most frequently call us about leaks at the edges and sealant that’s split or lifting.

All our work is covered by a one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Conwy.

Is resealing worth it?

A professional reseal costs little compared with water damage. It’s quick, tidy and protects your home. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

Landlord and trade work in Conwy

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

How we price bath resealing

There’s no area surcharge for Conwy. The price reflects:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • The colour and finish to match
  • How much damage there is
  • What the surface is made of

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Conwy. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Send pictures for a quote

You can take the photos on your phone. Just make sure we can see:

  • A picture taken from further back
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • The material, if you know it
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size

If you’re in Conwy and want a price, pictures are the quickest way: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. You’ll get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.

What we cannot put right

In fairness, there are a few things a repair will not fix:

  • Very wide gaps that need a trim
  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

Materials we repair

  • Basins & vanity units
  • Baths
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Wet rooms
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks

Different materials, different repairs

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, once the joint is completely dry.

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.

How it works

Here’s how a visit normally runs: we arrive at the agreed slot, protect everything around the work area, do the job and clear up. Allow about two hours for a bath. Before we go, we’ll explain how long to leave it and how to look after it.

  1. First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
  2. Next we clean the joint and deal with mould.
  3. We dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, taps included.

Before we arrive

  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

Ask for a price

You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

Do you need bath resealing in Conwy?

  • Black mould in the sealant
  • Damp near the bath
  • Stained silicone

Our hiring checklist

Can I fix it myself?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
