Bath resealing for Ridge homes

Ridge questions

Will you leave a mess?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we have finished.

Are you accredited?

We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Do I have to be there?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time we agree with you.

Do you cover Ridge?

We do. Repair technicians travel to Ridge from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

What do you need from me?

Photos of the damage, a photo of the entire bath or shower and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

Will there be a smell?

There may be a mild smell during the work that clears as it cures.

What does bath resealing cost?

Every job gets a fixed price from your pictures. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your BS40 postcode.

Why does the silicone keep cracking?

Something is moving. Persistent splitting can mean the support needs attention.

Bath resealing in Ridge without replacing anything

A reseal is a small job that makes a big difference. Clean, white joints make a bathroom look cared for, and they keep water out. Whether it’s leaks at the edges and discoloured, yellow sealant, we can help.

Different materials, different repairs

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.

For landlords and businesses

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, so there is no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. Several plots can be done in one visit to keep costs down.

For anyone letting property in or around Ridge, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send pictures for each address and we will come back with a combined price.

Why reseal now?

Putting new silicone over old doesn’t last. It soon peels, and traps mould underneath. We remove the old sealant completely. The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking, with nothing added on the day.

Why Ridge clients choose us

  • Nothing taken out or refitted

Common problems we fix in Ridge

Most reseals are because of black mould. It grows into the sealant itself, so cleaning can’t get it all out.

If you can see any of these, send us a picture:

  • Black spots in the silicone
  • Missing sealant behind the taps
  • Old sealant that looks dirty
  • Silicone smeared on tiles

What to look for in a quote

  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • How your room will be protected
  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • How long it needs to cure

Our hiring checklist

Should I try a DIY kit first?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

How the visit works

Once we are through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the job takes about two hours for a bath, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. The old silicone is cut out completely.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.

How to prepare

  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access

Looking after it afterwards

So the finish stays in good condition:

  • Use the extractor fan
  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
  • Open a window after bathing
  • Wipe the joints dry after use

Let it cure fully before using the bath or shower, normally about a day.

Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. There may be more going on, so we will tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.

Prices and what affects them

We do not charge extra for travel to Ridge. The price comes down to:

  • The material
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

Compared with replacing, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you’re paying for.

Send photos for a quote

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:

  • Something in shot to show the size
  • The material, if you know it
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath or shower, include your postcode and send them to us. What comes back is a fixed quote, not a guess.
