Need bath repair in Ridge?

Bath repair in Ridge without replacing anything

Most of our bath repairs take a few hours, and the bath is back in use the following day. You won’t need a plumber or tiler, because the bath doesn’t move. We work on pressed steel enamel, acrylic and roll-top & freestanding, and the jobs we see most are a hole punched through by something heavy and chips caused by builders.

Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee in Ridge and across Bath and North East Somerset.

Looking after it afterwards

It’s all simple stuff:

  • Rinse it down after each bath
  • Do not scrub with anything abrasive
  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted

In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine, avoiding abrasives.

If water is getting through a crack, stop using the bath. Leaks under a bath can damage floors and ceilings.

Honest limits

A repair is not always the answer, and we will tell you before we start. Repairs won’t solve:

  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

Ridge questions

Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?

Typically, yes, as long as we can get to the back of the crack to support it. Take off the bath panel and check, or send us a picture.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

How much does bath repair cost in Ridge?

Prices start from £95. Every job gets a fixed quote from your photos. Send a close-up and a photo of the whole item and your postcode.

Is the work guaranteed?

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Do you come to Ridge?

Yes. We work across the UK and come to Ridge and the rest of Bath and North East Somerset. Send pictures and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Will it make a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we have finished.

How long before I can use the bath?

Normally by the following day, though it depends on what we have done.

Do the materials smell?

Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, which is why we ventilate. It fades as everything cures.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

When to call us in Ridge

Glass and heavy bottles cause more chips than anything else, closely followed by shower heads. Taps and wastes cause problems too: water sits around them, and any chip there soon rusts.

These are the problems we are asked about most:

  • Damage beneath the taps
  • An old repair that has yellowed or come loose
  • Cracks in an acrylic bath
  • A chipped rim or side

Should you replace it?

For damage in one or two places, a repair is the obvious choice. It’s a fraction of the cost of a new bath and fitting, it takes one visit, and the bathroom stays exactly as it is. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed quote from your pictures, so you know the cost before you book.

What you get with us

  • Technicians who travel to you, UK-wide

What affects the price in Ridge

Repairs from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The material and finish
  • The colour and finish to match
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking.

Send pictures for a quote

You can take the photos on your phone. Just make sure we can see:

  • Details of any past repairs
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

Landlords, agents and businesses in Ridge

We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, pictures and access details and we’ll handle the rest.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, so there is no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. Several plots can be done in one visit to keep costs down.

What we do, step by step

You don’t need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and get going once we’ve agreed what we are doing. It normally takes a morning or an afternoon, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Open a window if you can
