About our bath resealing in River
All of the old sealant is cut out, deal with any mould, and apply fresh mould-resistant silicone. We do this for baths, showers, sinks and worktops, and that includes the awkward spots behind the taps. We’re often asked to fix silicone coming away from the tiles and mould you can’t clean out, on baths, wet rooms and basins & vanity units.
Big or small, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee in River and across Kent.

DIY kit or professional repair?
If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
Work for landlords and builders
Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover. Several plots can be done in one visit to keep costs down.
Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in River use us as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it typically costs far less than a refit.
What bath resealing costs
You will not pay by the hour. The price is based on:
- Whether we combine several jobs
- What the surface is made of
- The colour and finish to match
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Photos let us give you the exact figure.
Quotes from your photos
Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:
- Natural light rather than flash
- Details of any past repairs
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
For a price in River, pictures are the quickest way: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

River questions
My seal keeps tearing. Why?
Something is moving. Persistent splitting can mean the support needs attention.
When can you do it?
It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send photos with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
Most of the time. Let us know what was used before.
What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?
The price is fixed for what the pictures show. If there is more, we’ll tell you before starting.
When can I use the bath after resealing?
We’ll give you the curing time.
Can pets and children be at home?
We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work. Everywhere else in the home is fine.
Is there a guarantee?
Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.
Do you charge for travel?
There’s no separate call-out charge. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.
What a repair can’t fix
In fairness, there are a few things a repair won’t fix:
- Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
- Very wide gaps that need a trim
- Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly.
What we work on
- Basins & vanity units
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Wet rooms
- Kitchen worktops & sinks
- Baths
Signs you need bath resealing in River
Even good sealant eventually discolours, especially in a busy family bathroom. Steam, soap and movement all wear it down.
Clients normally contact us about:
- Discoloured, yellow sealant
- Missing sealant behind the taps
- Silicone coming away from the tiles
- Silicone smeared on tiles
What to look for in a quote
- When it can be used again
- A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
- Whether the price covers travel
- What the guarantee covers, and for how long
Resealing in River: why it matters
Sealing over old silicone is a false economy. It soon peels, and mould stays trapped behind it. We remove the old sealant completely. Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.
Why book with us
- Every repair guaranteed for a year
- Free fixed quotes from pictures
- Typically one visit, start to finish
- CHAS and Constructionline accredited

What happens on the day
Once we’re through the door, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. We mask off everything nearby, the job takes around two hours, depending on what we find, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.
- All the old sealant is cut out and removed.
- Next we clean the joint and deal with mould.
- We dry the joint thoroughly.
- For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
- We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, including around the taps.
Getting ready for the visit
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
How to get a price

Advice

Aftercare tips
Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:
- Open a window after bathing
- Give the seal a regular clean
- Replace the seal when mould sets in
- Run the extractor fan during and after showers
Good ventilation is the best protection, and wipe the joints after use.
Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. It may be more than a reseal, and we’ll say if you need a builder or plumber.
