About our bath resealing in Rossall

A fresh seal protects your bathroom. Old, split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and a new seal stops it. Whether it’s unsealed corners and old sealant that looks dirty, we can typically put it right.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Common questions in Rossall

Is my repair covered?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.

Can you price it without visiting?

Nearly always. If photos don’t show enough, we’ll ask for another angle.

Is there a call-out fee?

We do not add a call-out fee. Your fixed price includes everything.

Why does mould come back so fast?

Normally poor ventilation and moisture sitting on the joint. We use mould-resistant silicone, and ventilation helps it last.

Which areas do you work in?

We cover the entire UK, including Rossall and the rest of Lancashire. Just include your postcode and we’ll offer you dates.

How long does resealing take?

Typically a couple of hours, plus curing time.

Do I have to be there?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.

How much does bath resealing cost in Rossall?

We give a fixed quote from your pictures. Send a close-up and a photo of the entire item and your postcode.

When we would advise against a repair

A repair isn’t always the answer, and we’d rather say so up front. We can’t fix:

  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
  • Very wide gaps that need a trim

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

What we work on

  • Basins & vanity units
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Wet rooms
  • Baths

Landlords, agents and businesses in Rossall

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

What happens on the day

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, carry out the work and tidy away. Plan for about two hours for a bath. Before we go, we’ll explain how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
  2. Next we clean the joint and deal with mould.
  3. We dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
  5. We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, including around the taps.

Advice

Why reseal now?

Putting new silicone over old doesn’t last. It soon peels, and mould stays trapped behind it. A proper reseal removes the old first. A few things move the price: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send pictures and you’ll get a fixed figure.

Why Rossall clients choose us

DIY kit or professional repair?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

How to look after the repair

Aftercare is simple:

  • Clean the sealant gently and regularly
  • Open a window after bathing
  • Wipe the joints dry after use
  • Reseal when black spots will not clean off

Let it cure fully before using the bath or shower, normally about a day.

If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. There may be more going on, so we will tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.

Different materials, different repairs

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, once the joint is completely dry.

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, so the joint is at its widest.

What affects the price in Rossall

Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • How many areas need work
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Access to the area

Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.

Send pictures for a quote

You can typically get a fixed price without us visiting. To make it quick:

  • The material, if you know it
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

To get a price, send a couple of pictures using our quote form or ring us. We will tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.
