Our hiring checklist

Bath resealing in Selling, done in place

The key to a good reseal is getting all of the old silicone out. Fresh sealant does not stick to old, which is why many DIY jobs peel. Our technicians work on wet rooms, basins & vanity units and kitchen worktops & sinks, and common reasons people contact us are damp near the bath and gaps in the seal.

Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

What affects the price in Selling

We charge the same across the UK, including Selling. The price reflects:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Quotes from your photos

When you take your photos, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath or shower

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three photos using our quote form or ring us. We’ll say immediately if a repair is the right fix.

Work for landlords and builders

Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we will handle the rest.

FAQs for Selling

Is repairing better than replacing?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged before the end of a tenancy.

Why does the silicone keep cracking?

Usually because the bath or tray moves. We fill the bath before sealing it.

Do you work in Selling?

Yes, we do. Technicians travel to Selling from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

How long does resealing take?

Around two hours for a bath, plus curing time.

How much does bath resealing cost in Selling?

We give a fixed price based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your ME13 postcode.

Can landlords book you?

We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

How long does silicone take to cure?

Normally about a day later. We’ll tell you the exact time.

What a repair cannot fix

Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits:

  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
  • Hidden water damage
  • Very wide gaps that need a trim

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Baths
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Wet rooms
  • Basins & vanity units

Is resealing worth it?

Resealing costs very little and protects the walls and floor. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. A repair generally costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send pictures and we will give you the exact figure.

What your bath or shower is made of matters

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest.

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, once the joint is completely dry.

The process

We agree an arrival time beforehand. On site, it takes about two hours for a bath in most cases. We leave the room clean.

  1. All the old sealant is cut out and removed.
  2. The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
  3. The joint is dried thoroughly.
  4. Baths are filled with water first, so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, taps included.

Preparing for the visit

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

How to look after the repair

Simple care helps the repair last. We recommend:

  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Ventilate the bathroom well
  • Dry the seal after bathing
  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting

Run the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and give them a regular clean with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.

Reseal before water gets in. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.
