Bath resealing at your home in Spa Common

Resealing is one of the simplest ways to protect your bathroom. Failed sealant lets water get where it shouldn’t, and resealing puts a stop to that. We’re frequently asked to fix missing sealant behind the taps and damp near the bath, on shower trays & enclosures, baths and wet rooms.

Big or small, you get the same one-year guarantee.

What your bath or shower is made of matters

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.

Work for landlords and builders

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Spa Common use us as well as householders. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.

If you manage property in Spa Common, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send photos for each one and we’ll price them together.

What a repair can’t fix

We’d rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so these are the limits:

  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Very wide gaps that need a trim
  • Tiles that move, until they’re refixed

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly.

Surfaces we repair

  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Wet rooms
  • Baths

Why reseal now?

Sealing over old silicone is a false economy. It peels within weeks, and mould stays trapped behind it. A proper reseal removes the old first. The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before booking, with nothing added on the day.

The process

Here’s how a visit generally runs: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, do the job and clear up. Plan for about two hours for a bath from start to finish. Before we go, we’ll explain how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

Before we arrive

  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before

Questions from Spa Common

Will you leave a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.

Do you come to Spa Common?

We do. Repair technicians travel to Spa Common from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Is there a guarantee?

All our work carries a one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Can tenants book a repair?

We’re happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Just ensure the landlord agrees.

When can I use the bath after resealing?

You will get the curing time from us, usually around a day.

Do you seal over the old sealant?

We always remove the old sealant completely. New silicone won’t bond to old.

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Do you need bath resealing in Spa Common?

In time, even good sealant discolours particularly in a well-used bathroom. Steam, soap and movement all wear it down.

The things customers typically mention when they call are:

  • Unsealed corners
  • A messy previous reseal
  • Damp near the bath
  • Black mould in the sealant

10 questions to ask before you book

Can I fix it myself?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs often look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

What bath resealing costs

There is no charge for travel to Spa Common. The price depends on:

  • Access to the area
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it.

Quotes from your photos

Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To make it quick:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Details of any past repairs

A quote takes minutes to ask for: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath or shower, include your postcode and send them to us. You will get a fixed price, not an estimate.
