Bath resealing at your home in St Ive
Resealing is one of the simplest ways to protect your bathroom. Failed sealant lets water get where it shouldn’t, and resealing puts a stop to that. Whether it’s a messy previous reseal and black mould in the sealant, we can help.
You are covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Landlord and trade work in St Ive
Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in St Ive use us as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it generally costs far less than a refit.
Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We will fit around changeovers where we can.
St Ive questions
How soon can you come?
It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send photos with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.
Can you price it without visiting?
In nearly every case. If pictures don’t show enough, we will ask for another angle.
Can you reseal over the old silicone?
All the old sealant comes out. Fresh silicone doesn’t stick to old.
Do the materials smell?
Expect a mild smell while we’re working, which fades afterwards.
Is a repair better than a new one?
In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it is not worth repairing, we will tell you.
What happens after I send pictures?
We come back with a fixed price, normally with dates to choose from. You’re under no obligation.
How long does resealing take?
Around two hours for a bath, then it needs to cure.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we are working in. We’ll tell you when the room can be used again.
What we do, step by step
Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and start once you are happy with the plan. It usually takes around two hours, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.
- The old silicone is cut out completely.
- We remove the residue and clean the joint.
- We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
- The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
- We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.
Getting ready for the visit
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

Related advice
Can I fix it myself?
The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
What affects the price in St Ive
Each job gets its own fixed quote. This is what makes a difference:
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- How hard the colour is to match
- How many areas need work
A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. You’ll see the full price before you book, with no extras added later.
Getting a price from pictures
Two or three clear photos are normally enough. It helps if you send:
- Any details about the material
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- Natural light rather than flash
- A wider photo showing the entire bath or shower
Send us a photo of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, with your PL14 postcode, and we will come back with a fixed quote.
Repairs by material
Baths
Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest.
Shower trays
Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.

Resealing in St Ive: why it matters
Resealing is routine maintenance. Putting off a reseal lets water get behind the bath or tray, which costs far more to put right. We do not add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.
Why us?
- Every repair guaranteed for a year
- No extra charge for your area
- Fixed prices from your pictures
- Everything repaired in place

Honest limits
Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:
- Gaps too big for silicone alone
- A flexing bath
- Loose tiles, which need refixing first
Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before you book.
What we work on
- Baths
- Kitchen worktops & sinks
- Basins & vanity units
- Wet rooms
- Shower trays & enclosures
Keeping it looking good
Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:
- Open a window after bathing
- Don’t stand toiletries on the seal
- Give the seal a regular clean
- Wipe the joints dry after use
Good ventilation is the best protection, and dry the joints after bathing to keep mould away.
Black mould in sealant is not just unsightly, it’s a sign moisture is sitting in the joint. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.
