Bath resealing at your home in Strathyre
A good reseal is all about preparation: every bit of old silicone out, mould treated, the joint clean and dry. Only then does the new sealant go on, in a neat, continuous bead. Typical jobs include missing sealant behind the taps and old sealant that looks dirty, on baths, basins & vanity units and shower trays & enclosures.
All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months. We return to put right any problem with the work.

Questions from Strathyre
Why does my sealant keep going mouldy?
Typically poor ventilation and moisture sitting on the joint. We use mould-resistant silicone, and ventilation helps it last.
Is it safe with children and pets around?
On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.
Do the materials smell?
There may be a mild smell during the work.
Will you leave a mess?
Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we leave the room clean.
Do you cover the whole of Stirling?
All of Stirling, and the rest of the UK. Travel is included in the price.
Do you do work for letting agents?
Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders across Stirling.
Do I need to be at home?
We need someone to let us in. After that, you can carry on with your day.
Is repairing better than replacing?
Generally, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we will say so.
Looking after it afterwards
Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:
- Don’t stand toiletries on the seal
- Air the room after use
- Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
- Replace the seal when mould sets in
Don’t scrape the sealant with anything sharp, and don’t stand bottles on the seal.
Reseal before water gets in. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.
What happens on the day
You do not need to empty the room. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and get going once we have agreed what we are doing. Most jobs take about two hours for a bath, and you can get on with other things while we are there.
- All the old sealant is cut out and removed.
- We clean the joint and treat any mould.
- We dry the joint thoroughly.
- We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
- We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, including around the taps.
Getting ready for the visit
- Let us know about parking or access
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
Ask for a price
You do not need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.
Advice
Should I try a DIY kit first?
For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.
What bath resealing costs
Each job gets its own fixed price. This is what makes a difference:
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- The material
- Whether we combine several jobs
- How easy the damage is to reach
Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send pictures and we will give you the exact figure.
Send photos for a quote
Two or three clear photos are generally enough. Try to include:
- What it’s made of, if you know
- Details of any past repairs
- Natural light rather than flash
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
For most jobs, pictures are all we need to give you a price. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we’ll send back a fixed quote and some dates.

What a repair cannot fix
Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits:
- Gaps too big for silicone alone
- Hidden water damage
- Hollow or loose tiles
Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.
Surfaces we repair
- Wet rooms
- Baths
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Kitchen worktops & sinks
- Basins & vanity units
Work for landlords and builders
We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we’ll arrange it.
We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.
Repairs by material
Sinks and worktops
Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.
Shower trays
Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.

Why reseal now?
A reseal is one of the cheapest bathroom jobs there is, and it protects everything around the bath. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. We don’t add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
