Need bath resealing in Stuppington?

Why reseal now?

Sealing over old silicone is a false economy. It soon peels, and mould stays trapped behind it. A proper reseal removes the old first. We do not add extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Why us?

  • Free fixed quotes from pictures
  • Straight answers about what a repair can do
  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • No need to remove anything

Bath resealing in Stuppington without replacing anything

Preparation is everything in a reseal: old silicone removed, mould treated, the joint cleaned and dried. Then the fresh sealant goes on, in a neat, continuous bead. Typical jobs include leaks at the edges and sealant that’s split or lifting, in kitchen worktops & sinks, shower trays & enclosures and baths.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we will come back.

What we are called out for in Stuppington

Sealant does not last forever. Each shower leaves moisture and soap behind, which mould feeds on, and the joint flexes each time the bath fills.

The things clients generally mention when they call are:

  • Sealant that’s split or lifting
  • Mould you can’t clean out
  • Water getting behind the bath or tray
  • Discoloured, yellow sealant

What your quote should include

  • What aftercare is recommended
  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • What preparation is included

Our hiring checklist

Work for landlords and builders

If you manage property in Stuppington, we will quote for several properties at once. Just send pictures for each address and we will price them together.

We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, photos and access details.

Stuppington: your questions answered

Do I need to be at home?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.

Will it make a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we’ve finished.

When can I use the bath after resealing?

We’ll give you the curing time, normally around a day.

Is my repair covered?

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

How long will it take?

A bath or shower typically takes a couple of hours. It then needs time to cure.

Why does my sealant keep splitting?

Something is moving. If it keeps happening, the support may need fixing.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we’re working in. We’ll let you know when it’s safe to use again.

Looking after it afterwards

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Open a window after bathing
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Store bottles on a shelf
  • Replace the seal when mould sets in

Don’t scrape the sealant with anything sharp, and keep shampoo bottles off the joints.

Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.

What a repair cannot fix

Not everything can be repaired, and we would rather say so up front. Repairs will not solve:

  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Hollow or loose tiles
  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Baths
  • Wet rooms
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Shower trays & enclosures

What happens on the day

The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can stay at home while we’re there. We protect the area first, then the job itself takes a couple of hours. Before we leave, we explain the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. All the old sealant is cut out and removed.
  2. Next we clean the joint and deal with mould.
  3. The joint is dried thoroughly.
  4. Baths are filled with water first, so the joint is at its widest.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone goes on and is tooled to a neat finish, taps included.

Before we arrive

  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

How to get a price

There’s no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.

Advice

Should I try a DIY kit first?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.
