  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
  • Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

Bath resealing in Swindon without replacing anything

We cut out all of the old sealant, treat any mould, and apply fresh mould-resistant silicone. We reseal baths, showers, sinks and worktops, and that includes the awkward spots behind the taps. Typical jobs include unsealed corners and black mould in the sealant, on basins & vanity units, shower trays & enclosures and baths.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard.

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, once the joint is completely dry.

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, so the joint is at its widest.

Looking after it afterwards

It’s all simple stuff:

  • Open a window after bathing
  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
  • Use the extractor fan
  • Keep bottles off the joints

Do not scrape the sealant with anything sharp, and keep shampoo bottles off the joints.

Black mould in sealant is not just unsightly; it shows moisture is getting in. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Signs you need bath resealing in Swindon

Even good sealant eventually discolours. Steam, soap and movement all take their toll.

Swindon: your questions answered

How much does bath resealing cost in Swindon?

We give a fixed quote from your photos. Send a close-up and a picture of the entire item and your postcode.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Usually, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Is there a call-out fee?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

Why does the silicone keep cracking?

Something is moving. Persistent splitting can mean the support needs attention.

Can you reseal over the old silicone?

All the old sealant comes out. New silicone won’t bond to old.

Does someone need to be in?

We need someone to let us in. You don’t need to watch us work.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Send photos of everything you’d like done.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

We’ll show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

What happens on the day

We work cleanly and quietly, so you can carry on at home. We protect the area first, then the work takes about two hours for a bath. At the end we talk you through the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
  2. The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
  3. The joint is dried thoroughly.
  4. For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, taps included.

How to prepare

Advice

Why it’s worth resealing in Swindon

Putting new silicone over old doesn’t last. It peels within weeks, and mould stays trapped behind it. We remove the old sealant completely. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.
