Bath resealing for The Grove homes

Bath resealing at your home in The Grove

We reseal baths, shower trays, basins and worktops using mould-resistant silicone. Most jobs take a couple of hours, then it needs to cure. We regularly repair kitchen worktops & sinks, baths and basins & vanity units, and common reasons people contact us are a messy previous reseal and discoloured, yellow sealant.

We guarantee the work for a year. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Why reseal now?

Resealing costs very little and protects the walls and floor. Leaving failed sealant can let water cause damage that costs far more to fix. We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

How to compare quotes

Prices and what affects them

Every quote is fixed and free. What we take into account:

  • What the surface is made of
  • The colour and finish to match
  • How much damage there is
  • How many items we do on one visit

Compared with replacing, repairing typically costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Quotes from your pictures

Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • The material, if you know it
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Something in shot to show the size

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them over with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed price back. There is no charge for the quote and no obligation.

The Grove: your questions answered

Can you price it without visiting?

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the photos can’t show what we need.

Can tenants book a repair?

Of course. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

How long does resealing take?

Typically a couple of hours, plus curing time.

Why does mould come back so fast?

Mostly moisture and poor ventilation. We use mould-resistant silicone, and ventilation helps it last.

Do you cover The Grove?

Yes. We cover the whole UK and come to The Grove. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

What areas do you cover?

All of Norfolk, and the rest of the UK. There is no extra charge for travel.

Is there a call-out fee?

We don’t add a call-out fee. Your fixed price includes everything.

Will you leave a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, for the same reason.

Aftercare tips

Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Use the extractor fan
  • Wipe the joints dry after use
  • Do not stand toiletries on the seal

Let it cure fully before using the bath or shower, normally about a day.

Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem; it shows moisture is getting in. Resealing early keeps water out of the walls and floor.

The process

We turn up when we said we would and checks the damage against your pictures first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. Most visits take a couple of hours, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
  5. We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.

How to prepare

  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
