Bath resealing near The Heath

What happens on the day

Arrival times are agreed in advance. Once we’re there, the work takes a couple of hours for most jobs. We leave the room clean and ready to use once it has cured.

  1. All the old sealant is cut out and removed.
  2. We clean the joint and treat any mould.
  3. We make sure the joint is completely dry.
  4. We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
  5. We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, taps included.

Preparing for the visit

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

How to get a price

Advice

Bath resealing at your home in The Heath

Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint opens fully, which stops the new seal tearing the first time the bath is used. If you are dealing with damp near the bath and sealant that’s split or lifting, we can help.

Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

Keeping it looking good

It’s all simple stuff:

  • Use the extractor fan
  • Keep the joints dry
  • Clean the sealant gently and regularly
  • Replace the seal when mould sets in

Good ventilation is the best protection, and dry the joints after bathing.

Reseal before water gets in. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

What your bath or shower is made of matters

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, so the joint is at its widest.

When a repair isn’t the answer

A repair is not always the answer, and we would rather say so up front. We can’t fix:

  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first
  • A flexing bath

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly.

Common questions in The Heath

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.

Do you cover The Heath?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and come to The Heath and the rest of Norfolk. Send photos and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Can you reseal over the old silicone?

Never over old. It’s removed, cleaned off and the joint dried first.

Why does my sealant keep going mouldy?

Mostly moisture and poor ventilation. Mould-resistant silicone and good ventilation help.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

How do I get a price for bath resealing in The Heath?

We give a fixed quote based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up and a photo of the entire item with your NR10 postcode.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

Your quote covers the damage in the photos. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

In most cases. The old repair comes out first.

Prices and what affects them

Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • How many areas need work
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • How easy the damage is to reach

The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Quotes from your pictures

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. It helps if you send:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Details of any past repairs
  • A picture taken from further back
  • The material, if you know it

There is no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.

Can I fix it myself?

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

Resealing in The Heath: why it matters

Resealing is a small job. Leaving split or mouldy sealant can let water reach the walls and floor, which costs far more to put right. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the entire job up front. It depends on the damage, the material and access.

Why The Heath clients choose us

  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • No need to remove anything
  • One visit for most repairs

What we are called out for in The Heath

No sealant lasts for ever. Every bath or shower adds moisture and soap residue, which mould loves, and the joint flexes each time the bath fills.

If you can see any of these, send us a photo:

  • Unsealed corners
  • Gaps in the seal
  • Leaks at the edges
  • Silicone smeared on tiles
