Work for landlords and builders
We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in The Wisp as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.
We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.
About our bath resealing in The Wisp
Baths, trays, basins and kitchen worktops all get resealed. A typical reseal takes a couple of hours, then it needs to cure. Typical jobs include sealant that’s split or lifting and a messy previous reseal, on baths, wet rooms and shower trays & enclosures.
The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Why it’s worth resealing in The Wisp
Putting new silicone over old does not last. It peels within weeks, and traps mould underneath. A proper reseal removes the old first. We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Keeping it looking good
Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:
- Air the room after use
- Replace the seal when mould sets in
- Store bottles on a shelf
- Dry the seal after bathing
Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, generally around 24 hours.
Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. It may be more than a reseal, so we will tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.
Repairs by material
Baths
We fill the bath before sealing, to open the joint fully.
Sinks and worktops
We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.
FAQs for The Wisp
What happens if you find more damage?
We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.
Can you repair several things at once?
Of course, and it normally saves money. Send pictures of everything together and you will get one combined price.
Can tenants book a repair?
Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.
Why does mould come back so fast?
Usually poor ventilation and moisture sitting on the joint. We use mould-resistant silicone, and ventilation helps it last.
How soon can you come?
Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.
Are you a vetted contractor?
Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.
Is there a guarantee?
Yes, for a year. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.
How long does resealing take?
Typically a couple of hours, then it needs to cure.
What we do, step by step
Once we’re through the door, we keep the work contained to the one room. We mask off everything nearby, the work takes about two hours for a bath, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.
- First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
- Next we clean the joint and deal with mould.
- We ensure the joint is completely dry.
- We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
- We run a new bead of mould-resistant silicone and smooth it neatly, taps included.
Before we arrive
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
- Keep a parking space free if you can
- Ensure the area is dry
How to get a price
You do not need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed price.
Advice
Can I fix it myself?
What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
