About our bath resealing in Trenoweth
A reseal is a small job that makes a big difference. Fresh joints make the whole room look cleaner, and they keep water out. Whether it’s missing sealant behind the taps and gaps in the seal, we can generally put it right.
Peace of mind is built in: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before you book.

Repairs by material
Baths
We fill the bath before sealing, so the joint is at its widest.
Sinks and worktops
We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, once the joint is completely dry.
Common problems we fix in Trenoweth
Most reseals are because of black mould. It grows into the sealant itself, so cleaning only removes the surface.
Typical reasons for a call-out include:
- Old sealant that looks dirty
- An untidy old seal
- Damp near the bath
- Black mould in the sealant
Questions to ask before you book

- The length of the guarantee and what it covers
- Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
- Who will actually do the work
Why reseal now?
Sealing over old silicone is a false economy. It peels within weeks, and mould stays trapped behind it. We remove the old sealant completely. We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Trenoweth. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Aftercare tips
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Air the room after use
- Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
- Keep bottles off the joints
- Wipe the joints dry after use
Let it cure fully before using the bath or shower, typically around 24 hours.
Do not wait until water gets behind the bath. Split or lifting sealant is a sign it’s time.
What happens on the day
From the moment we arrive, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. We mask off everything nearby, the job takes about two hours for a bath, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.
- First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
- The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
- The joint is dried thoroughly.
- For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
- New mould-resistant silicone goes on and is tooled to a neat finish, taps included.
Getting ready for the visit
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
Getting a price
Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them over with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed quote back. There’s no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.
Advice
DIY repairs versus a professional job
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.
The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.
Work for landlords and builders
Letting agents often send us photos straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.
We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover so nothing needs replacing. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.
When a repair is not the answer
To be straight with you, there are a few things a repair will not fix:
- Hidden water damage
- Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
- A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

Your questions about bath resealing in Trenoweth
Do you cover the whole of Cornwall?
Across the UK, so Trenoweth is covered. Prices do not change with location.
How long before I can shower?
We’ll give you the curing time.
What happens after I send pictures?
We review the pictures and send a fixed quote and the next dates we have.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures cannot show what we need.
How long will it take?
A bath or shower usually takes a couple of hours. Leave it to cure before use.
Can landlords book you?
Yes. We carry out repairs for householders, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses.
What information do you need?
Some photos, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, we only need access to the room.
