Bath resealing for Trewyddfa homes

For landlords and businesses

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Swansea and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Trewyddfa use us as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

Bath resealing at your home in Trewyddfa

Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest, which stops the new seal tearing the first time the bath is used. Whether it’s leaks at the edges and gaps by the taps, we can generally put it right, on wet rooms, baths and shower trays & enclosures alike.

You’re covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

What we cannot put right

A repair isn’t always the answer, and we will tell you before we start. We can’t fix:

  • Hollow or loose tiles
  • Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Basins & vanity units
  • Baths
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Wet rooms
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks

Do you need bath resealing in Trewyddfa?

In time, even good sealant discolours, especially in a busy family bathroom. Steam, soap and movement all wear it down.

Get in touch if you’ve noticed any of these:

  • Black spots in the silicone
  • Discoloured, yellow sealant
  • Gaps by the taps
  • Gaps in the seal

What your quote should include

  • How soon you can use it again
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges

How to compare quotes

DIY kit or professional repair?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, then guarantee it for a year.

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, for the same reason.

Trewyddfa: your questions answered

Will the price change on the day?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. You won’t be charged for anything you haven’t agreed.

Do I have to be there?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time we agree with you.

Why does the silicone keep cracking?

Movement is the usual cause. We fill the bath before sealing it.

How do I stop mould in sealant?

Mostly moisture and poor ventilation. Mould-resistant silicone and good ventilation help.

Can you quote from photos?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.

Do you come to Trewyddfa?

Yes. We cover the whole UK and come to Trewyddfa. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

How soon can you come?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.

Can new silicone go over old?

Never over old. It’s removed, cleaned off and the joint dried first.

Prices and what affects them

Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Trewyddfa. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Getting a price from pictures

When you take your photos, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • One picture of the whole bath or shower
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale

Most clients in Trewyddfa get their price from pictures. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

Aftercare tips

Simple care helps the repair last. We recommend:

  • Clean the joints with a mild cleaner
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting
  • Store bottles on a shelf

Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, normally about a day.

Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.

The process

You do not need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we have agreed what we are doing. It normally takes around two hours, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. The old silicone is cut out completely.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.

How to prepare

  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift

How to get a price
