Bath resealing in Tye without replacing anything
We reseal baths with them filled with water, so the joint opens fully, so the seal does not tear when the bath is first used. If you are dealing with discoloured, yellow sealant and a messy previous reseal, we can generally put it right, whatever the material.
You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there is a problem and we’ll sort it.

When a repair isn’t the answer
A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:
- Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
- Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
- Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.
Materials we repair

What happens on the day
When we visit, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take around two hours. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.
- We cut out all of the old sealant.
- We remove the residue and clean the joint.
- Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
- We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
- We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.
Preparing for the visit
- Clear the area around the damage
- Tell us about parking, stairs or access
- Let us know which floor the room is on

Putting new silicone over old does not last. It soon peels, and mould stays trapped behind it. We remove the old sealant completely. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send photos and we will give you the exact figure.

What affects the price in Tye
There’s no charge for travel to Tye. The price comes down to:
- Doing more than one item at once
- The material and finish
- The colour and finish to match
- How many areas need work
The price depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.
Getting a price from pictures
When you take your pictures, these tips help us give you a firm price:
- A wider photo showing the whole bath or shower
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
Upload a photo of the damage and one of the whole item, and tell us you are in Tye, and we will come back with a fixed quote.
Keeping it looking good
It’s all simple stuff, just a few sensible habits:
- Wipe the joints dry after use
- Replace the seal when mould sets in
- Clean the sealant gently and regularly
- Air the room after use
Use the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and give them a regular clean with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.
Mouldy sealant is more than a cosmetic problem. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.

Tye questions
Will it make a mess?
No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Landlords are often glad to have it sorted.
Can pets and children be at home?
Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we are working in. We will let you know when it’s safe to use again.
When can I use the bath after resealing?
You’ll get the curing time from us, normally around a day.
Why does mould come back so fast?
Damp is the cause. Ventilation and drying keep it clean longer.
Can landlords book you?
Yes, frequently. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.
Is a repair better than a new one?
Usually, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We will tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.
Can you do more than one item on the same visit?
Of course, and it typically saves money. Send pictures of everything together and we will quote them together.
