Bath resealing in Ulceby without replacing anything

Resealing is one of the simplest ways to protect your bathroom. Failed sealant lets water get where it shouldn’t, and a new seal stops it. Whether it’s water getting behind the bath or tray and gaps by the taps, we can normally put it right, on kitchen worktops & sinks, shower trays & enclosures and wet rooms alike.

Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee.

What we’re called out for in Ulceby

Even good sealant eventually discolours, especially in a busy family bathroom. Steam, soap and movement all wear it down.

The things customers normally mention when they call are:

  • Stained silicone
  • Missing sealant behind the taps
  • Gaps in the seal
  • Mould you cannot clean out

Before you book anyone

  • When it can be used again
  • How to care for the finish
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges

When a repair isn’t the answer

A repair isn’t always the answer, and we’d rather say so up front. We can’t fix:

  • Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Basins & vanity units
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Baths
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Wet rooms

How the visit works

When we visit, we arrive at the time we have agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job typically takes about two hours for a bath. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.

  1. We protect the area and mask the joint lines.
  2. Old sealant and residue are removed.
  3. We clean, treat and dry the joint.
  4. We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
  5. The bead is smoothed, the tape removed and the seal left to cure.

How to prepare

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Have a window or extractor fan available

Ask for a price

We price from photos so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.

Prices and what affects them

There is no area surcharge for Ulceby. What changes the price is:

  • How much damage there is
  • The type of damage
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • The material

It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Quotes from your photos

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A picture taken from further back

You don’t need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price.

What your bath or shower is made of matters

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest.

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, so the joint is at its widest.

Work for landlords and builders

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Ulceby use us as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it generally costs far less than a refit.

We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send photos, the address and how to get access.

Ulceby: your questions answered

What happens after I send photos?

We review the photos and send a fixed quote with dates.

How long does silicone take to cure?

We will give you the curing time, generally around a day.

How soon can you come?

We will give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we will do what we can.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Usually, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we will say so.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and you’ll get one combined price.

Do you work in Ulceby?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and travel to Ulceby and the rest of Lincolnshire. Send photos and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

What happens if you find more damage?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. The price only changes if you agree.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We carry out repairs for householders, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses in Ulceby.

Can I fix it myself?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Keeping it looking good

Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:

  • Let steam out after showers
  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Give the seal a regular clean
  • Dry the seal after bathing

Leave the sealant to cure for the time we give you, normally about a day.

If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. There may be more going on, so we will tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.
