What bath resealing costs

You will know the full cost before booking. We take into account:

  • Access to the area
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • How hard the colour is to match

Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send photos and we’ll give you the exact figure.

Quotes from your pictures

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Try to send:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • The material, if you know it

You do not need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

Bath resealing in Waun-ceirch without replacing anything

Resealing is quick, but it transforms the look. Clean, white joints make a bathroom look cared for, and they keep water out. We work on kitchen worktops & sinks, wet rooms and shower trays & enclosures, and common reasons people contact us are missing sealant behind the taps and damp near the bath.

Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

Can I fix it myself?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.

Keeping it looking good

Simple care helps the repair last. Our advice:

  • Let steam out after showers
  • Wipe the joints dry after use
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Store bottles on a shelf

Good ventilation is the best protection, and dry the joints after bathing to keep mould away.

If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. It may be more than a reseal, so we will tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.

Signs you need bath resealing in Waun-ceirch

Sealant does not last forever. Each shower leaves moisture and soap behind, which mould feeds on, and the joint flexes each time the bath fills.

These are the problems we’re asked about most:

  • Missing sealant behind the taps
  • Leaks at the edges
  • Old sealant that looks dirty
  • Gaps in the seal

What your quote should include

  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • Whether the price covers travel
  • A fixed quote, and whether VAT is included
  • What prep work is covered

Why reseal now?

Resealing costs very little. Failed sealant can lead to water damage that is much more expensive. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

What you get with us

How do I get a price for bath resealing in Waun-ceirch?

Because every job differs, we price from pictures. You will get a fixed figure before you book.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

We’re happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

When can I use the bath after resealing?

Normally after around 24 hours. We will tell you the exact time.

Do you charge for travel?

Travel is included in the price, with the same prices everywhere we work.

What happens next?

You get a fixed quote and available dates. If we need another angle, we’ll ask.

What happens if you find more damage?

We will show you and explain before doing anything extra. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Honest limits

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Hidden water damage
  • Gaps too big for silicone alone

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.

What we work on

  • Wet rooms
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Baths

What your bath or shower is made of matters

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, once the joint is completely dry.

The process

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, protect the area, then carry out the work, which normally takes around two hours. If we find something your pictures didn’t show, we will explain it before carrying on.

  1. We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
  2. The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
  3. We make sure the joint is completely dry.
  4. For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, including around the taps.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
