It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, cover and mask the work area, then carry out the work, which normally takes around two hours. If anything looks different from your photos, we’ll talk to you before going ahead.
- The old silicone is cut out completely.
- Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
- Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
- The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
- New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

Prices and what affects them
A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We take into account:
- Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
- The colour and finish to match
- The size and number of damaged areas
- The material and finish
There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.
How to get a fixed quote
A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:
- Details of any past repairs
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
- A picture taken from further back
- Natural light rather than flash
If you are in Week St Mary and want a price, the easiest route is photos: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. You’ll get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.
Why it’s worth resealing in Week St Mary
Sealing over old silicone is a false economy. It soon peels, and mould stays trapped behind it. We remove the old sealant completely. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.
What you get with us
- Work done at your home or business
- Accredited with CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor
- Everything repaired in place
- Fixed prices from your pictures

Should I try a DIY kit first?
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Questions from Week St Mary
Do I need to be at home?
Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time we agree with you.
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
Yes. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.
Why does my sealant keep splitting?
Movement is the usual cause. We seal baths full of water.
Is there a call-out fee?
No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.
Which areas do you work in?
Across the UK. Our prices are the same everywhere.
How long does resealing take?
Around two hours for a bath, plus curing time.
What does bath resealing cost?
We give a fixed price from your photos. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your EX22 postcode.
What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?
If we find something the photos didn’t show, we explain it first. The price only changes if you agree.
Different materials, different repairs
Shower trays
We put weight on a tray before sealing it, so the joint is at its widest.
Sinks and worktops
Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, once the joint is completely dry.
Aftercare tips
How the surface is treated afterwards matters:
- Dry the seal after bathing
- Give the seal a regular clean
- Reseal at the first sign of lifting
- Run the extractor fan during and after showers
Avoid scraping the joints, and don’t stand bottles on the seal.
If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. There may be more going on, and we will say if you need a builder or plumber.
When a repair is not the answer
It helps to know what we can’t do:
- Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
- Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
- A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.
