Need bath resealing in Whiteley?

How it works

We agree an arrival time beforehand, so you know when to expect us. On site, it takes about two hours for a bath for most jobs. The room is left tidy and ready to use once it has cured.

  1. We cut out all of the old sealant.
  2. Residue is removed and the joint cleaned.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. The bath is filled with water, or weight put on the tray.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Let us know about parking or access

Advice

About our bath resealing in Whiteley

A good reseal is all about preparation: every bit of old silicone out, mould treated, the joint clean and dry. Only then does the new sealant go on, as one neat, continuous bead. We are often asked to fix a messy previous reseal and black mould in the sealant, on kitchen worktops & sinks, basins & vanity units and baths.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

What bath resealing costs

We do not charge extra for travel to Whiteley. The price comes down to:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • The colour and finish to match
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Whiteley. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Quotes from your photos

Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:

  • A wider photo showing the whole bath or shower
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

Upload pictures of the damage and one of the entire item, and tell us you are in Whiteley, and we will reply with a fixed price.

How long will it take?

Around two hours for a bath, then it needs to cure.

Can pets and children be at home?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit. The rest of the house is unaffected.

When can you do it?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

How long before I can shower?

Typically after around 24 hours. We will tell you the exact time.

Is there a guarantee?

All our work carries a one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Usually, when the rest is in good condition. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.

Is it messy?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we have finished.

What a repair can’t fix

A repair is not right for every job, including:

  • Hollow or loose tiles
  • Movement in the bath or tray
  • Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Wet rooms
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Baths

Baths

We fill the bath before sealing, so the joint is at its widest.

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, with the joint fully dried first.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Hospitality businesses cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.

Is resealing worth it?

Resealing is routine maintenance. Leaving split or mouldy sealant can let water reach the walls and floor, and that damage costs much more to fix. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

Can I fix it myself?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair won’t last.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Aftercare tips

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:

  • Replace the seal when mould sets in
  • Store bottles on a shelf
  • Ventilate the bathroom well
  • Keep the joints dry

Let it cure fully before using the bath or shower, normally around 24 hours.

If you notice damp, stains on the ceiling below or loose tiles, act quickly. It may be more than a reseal, so we’ll tell you if it needs a builder or plumber.
