Bath resealing in Willington

Repairs by material

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, once the joint is completely dry.

Shower trays

We put weight on a tray before sealing it, so the joint is at its widest.

Bath resealing in Willington, done in place

All of the old sealant is cut out, deal with any mould, and reseal with new mould-resistant silicone. We reseal baths, showers, sinks and worktops, including the awkward bits behind the taps. Our technicians work on kitchen worktops & sinks, shower trays & enclosures and basins & vanity units, and people most frequently call us about water getting behind the bath or tray and black mould in the sealant.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you are covered after the visit.

What we do, step by step

Once we are through the door, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. We mask off everything nearby, the work takes around two hours, and we finish by cleaning up and talking you through the result.

  1. The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
  2. We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
  3. The joint is cleaned, treated and dried.
  4. Fresh silicone is applied in a continuous bead.
  5. We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Ensure the room can be ventilated
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing

Keeping it looking good

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Reseal when black spots will not clean off
  • Open a window after bathing
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Store bottles on a shelf

Avoid scraping the joints, and keep shampoo bottles off the joints.

Black mould in sealant is not just unsightly, it’s a sign moisture is sitting in the joint. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.

For landlords and businesses

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in North Tyneside and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so we keep visits short and tidy. We can work around your bookings.

Why reseal now?

Resealing is a small job. Putting off a reseal can let water reach the walls and floor, and that damage costs much more to fix. Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. Damage, material and access decide it.

Why Willington clients choose us

Honest limits

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Loose tiles, which need refixing first
  • Very wide gaps that need a trim
  • Hidden water damage

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Basins & vanity units
  • Baths
  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Wet rooms

What bath resealing costs

Prices are worked out job by job. The main factors are:

  • How many areas need work
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • The material

The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. You’ll see the full price before booking, with no extras added later.

Quotes from your pictures

Two or three clear photos are generally enough. It helps if you send:

  • A photo taken from further back
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • What it’s made of, if you know

Most clients in Willington get their price from pictures. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote and the earliest dates we have.

Can I fix it myself?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that is fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface isn’t prepared the repair will not last.
