Need bath resealing in Wingham Green?

Is resealing worth it?

Resealing costs very little and protects the walls and floor. Failed sealant can lead to water damage that is much more expensive. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. You’ll see the full price before booking.

Bath resealing in Wingham Green without replacing anything

A proper reseal starts with removing every trace of the old silicone. Fresh sealant does not stick to old, which is why so many DIY reseals peel. We regularly repair basins & vanity units, baths and wet rooms, and common reasons people get in touch are sealant that’s split or lifting and gaps by the taps.

We guarantee the work for a year. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

When to call us in Wingham Green

A bathroom without good ventilation is hard on sealant: moisture sits on the joints longer, and mould takes hold.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • Gaps by the taps
  • Damp near the bath
  • Stained silicone
  • Silicone smeared on tiles

Our hiring checklist

Repairs by material

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, so the joint is at its widest.

Sinks and worktops

We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

What we do, step by step

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and clear up. Allow around two hours from start to finish. Before we go, we’ll explain how long to leave it and how to care for it.

  1. The surrounding area is protected and the joints masked.
  2. We remove the old sealant and every trace of residue.
  3. We clean, treat and dry the joint.
  4. We run a continuous bead of new silicone.
  5. We smooth the bead, remove the tape and leave it to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Open a window if you can

  • Movement in the bath or tray

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think.

  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Basins & vanity units
  • Baths

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks

Common questions in Wingham Green

Do you hold any accreditations?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Why does my sealant keep going mouldy?

Damp is the cause. Run the fan, dry the joints and the new seal stays cleaner for longer.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it isn’t worth repairing, we’ll tell you.

Is the work guaranteed?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.

How long does a reseal take?

A bath or shower typically takes a couple of hours. It then needs time to cure.

Will it make a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.

Which areas do you work in?

We cover the entire UK, including Wingham Green and the rest of Kent. Send your postcode with your pictures and we will offer you dates.

What does bath resealing cost?

Every job gets a fixed price based on pictures of the damage. Send a close-up and a photo of the whole item with your CT3 postcode.

Prices and what affects them

Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:

  • How much damage there is
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Access to the area
  • What the surface is made of

We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Wingham Green. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

How to get a fixed quote

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:

  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

You don’t need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

Keeping it looking good

So the finish stays in good condition:

  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Open a window after bathing
  • Reseal at the first sign of lifting
  • Dry the seal after bathing

Avoid scraping the joints, and keep shampoo bottles off the joints.

Damp below or loose tiles need checking quickly. There may be more going on, and we will say if you need a builder or plumber.
