Bath resealing at your home in Worthington

All of the old sealant is cut out, deal with any mould, and apply fresh mould-resistant silicone. We reseal baths, showers, sinks and worktops, and that includes the awkward spots behind the taps. We are frequently asked to fix mould you can’t clean out and unsealed corners, across basins & vanity units, wet rooms and baths.

We guarantee the work for a year. If there is a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Questions from Worthington

What happens next?

We look at the pictures and reply with a fixed price and some dates. If we need another angle, we will ask.

Can pets and children be at home?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit. The rest of the house is unaffected.

Is there a guarantee?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and you will get one combined price.

Will there be a smell?

There may be a mild smell during the work, which fades afterwards.

Do you come to Worthington?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Worthington. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Why does the silicone keep cracking?

Movement is the usual cause. We seal baths full of water.

Aftercare tips

How the surface is treated afterwards matters:

  • Keep bottles off the joints
  • Run the extractor fan during and after showers
  • Clean the sealant gently and regularly
  • Dry the seal after bathing

Do not scrape the sealant with anything sharp, and do not stand bottles on the seal.

Don’t wait until water gets behind the bath. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.

Prices and what affects them

Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we look at:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The colour and finish to match
  • The material

Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Quotes from your photos

Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Any details about the material
  • A picture taken from further back

No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.

Resealing in Worthington: why it matters

Resealing is routine maintenance. Leaving split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, which costs far more to put right. We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Worthington. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Work for landlords and builders

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Signs you need bath resealing in Worthington

Even good sealant eventually discolours. Steam, soap and movement all take their toll.

The most common problems we are called about are:

  • Missing sealant behind the taps
  • A messy previous reseal
  • Silicone coming away from the tiles
  • Damp near the bath

10 questions to ask before booking

DIY repairs versus a professional job

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

What your bath or shower is made of matters

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, to open the joint fully.

Sinks and worktops

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, once the joint is completely dry.

How the visit works

Once we are through the door, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. We mask off everything nearby, the job takes around two hours, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.

  1. We cut out and remove all of the old sealant.
  2. We clean the joint and treat any mould.
  3. We dry the joint thoroughly.
  4. For a bath, we fill it with water first so the joint is at its widest.
  5. We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, taps included.

Preparing for the visit

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
