Coloured bath resurfacing near Acton Gate

Repairing versus replacing in Acton Gate

Swapping a coloured suite for a white one means new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white turns it white without taking anything out. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

About our coloured bath resurfacing in Acton Gate

We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, with no new plumbing or tiling. A full suite is normally done in one to two days. Our technicians work on avocado, pampas and pink baths, coloured shower trays and whole bathroom suites, and common reasons people get in touch are a dated coloured suite you’d like in white and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

When a repair is not the answer

Not everything can be repaired, and we would rather say so up front. We can’t fix:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Coloured shower trays
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Coloured basins

Can I fix it myself?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

Do you need coloured bath resurfacing in Acton Gate?

Coloured suites were fitted in huge numbers in the 1970s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s generally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

People generally call us when they notice one of these:

  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • Faded or patchy colour

Before you book anyone

How to compare quotes

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £350. Prices are worked out job by job. What matters most is:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The type of damage
  • Access to the area
  • How many items we do on one visit

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Send photos for a quote

When you take your pictures, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Details of any past repairs
  • The material, if you know it
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them over with your postcode, and you will get a fixed price back. There is no charge for the quote and you’re under no obligation.

Questions from Acton Gate

Is there a call-out fee?

We do not add a call-out fee. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include pictures of each item.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Most of the time. Let us know what was used before.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged before the end of a tenancy.

When can you do it?

That depends on our diary for your area. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

What information do you need?

Use the quote form or ring 0345 017 0787, and we’ll do the rest.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Just keep them out of the work area. We will let you know when it’s safe to use again.

What happens on the day

Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you are not left guessing. Once we’re there, the work takes one to two days for a full suite for most jobs. The room is left tidy.

  1. The room is protected and ventilated.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. We leave everything to cure, usually until the day after.

Preparing for the visit

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access

How to get a price

You don’t need a survey visit. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.
