How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in Albro

We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, with no new plumbing or tiling. Most suites take one or two days. Our repair technicians work on whole bathroom suites, coloured basins and coloured shower trays, and the jobs we see most are selling or letting a home with an old suite and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom.

Whatever the size of the job, you get the same one-year guarantee. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

The process

We turn up when we said we would, introduces themselves and looks over the damage before anything else. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before any work starts. The work itself takes one to two days for a full suite, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray the new white (or other colour) finish.
  5. We leave everything to cure, normally until the next day.

How to prepare

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work

Advice

What affects the price in Albro

Prices start from £350. You won’t pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • How many areas need work
  • The material
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

A repair generally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send pictures and we will give you the exact figure.

Getting a price from pictures

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Try to send:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Details of any past repairs
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • What it’s made of, if you know

Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them to us with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed price back. Quotes are free and you’re under no obligation.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Albro

For anyone letting property in or around Albro, we will quote for several properties at once. Just send pictures for each address and we will price them together.

Common problems we fix in Albro

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and many are still sound. It’s generally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

Send us a picture if you notice any of these:

  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • Faded or patchy colour

Questions to ask before you book

  • If travel is included in the price
  • Aftercare advice
  • Who turns up on the day
  • What protection goes down before work starts

Our hiring checklist

What a repair cannot fix

We will always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair can’t fix:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us pictures and we will tell you honestly.

Materials we repair

  • Coloured basins
  • Coloured shower trays
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Whole bathroom suites

Albro: your questions answered

Can you do the toilet too?

Talk to us first. The inside of a bowl is always wet and scrubbed, so we will tell you what will last.

Do you come to Albro?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and travel to Albro and the rest of Ceredigion. Send pictures and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

How do I book?

Some pictures, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, access to the room.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes: twelve months. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Most of the time. Let us know what was used before.

Can pets and children be at home?

Just keep them out of the work area. We’ll tell you when the room can be used again.

Can you turn my avocado bath white?

Yes. We resurface it in white with it left in place.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a coloured suite involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Resurfacing turns it white with everything left in place. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.
