Bath repair in Albro without replacing anything
Whether your bath is steel, cast iron or acrylic, we can repair it. The method changes with the material: metal baths need any rust dealt with first, and acrylic cracks need support from behind. Typical jobs include a hole punched through by something heavy and scuffs and scratches in the surface, across pressed steel enamel, whirlpool & spa baths and acrylic.
You are covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we will explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

What else we do in Albro
Albro questions
Can landlords book you?
We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.
Do you repair coloured baths?
Yes, we match coloured baths too. We tint the finish to your bath on site.
Is a repair better than a new one?
Generally, when the rest is in good condition. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we will say so.
Will it make a mess?
No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.
Do you work in Albro?
We do. Technicians travel to Albro from across the region, and the price is the same as everywhere else.
Are there extra charges for Albro?
No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.
What information do you need?
A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.
What happens if you find more damage?
It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. The price only changes if you agree.
Common problems we fix in Albro
Many chips happen while the bathroom is being fitted. Tradespeople drop tools and tiles into the bath, and the damage is not always spotted until later. Snagging repairs like these are a regular job for us.
You may need us if you’ve spotted:
- A hole punched through by something heavy
- Chips caused by builders
- Chips along the edge of the bath
- A kit repair that didn’t last
What to look for in a quote
- What aftercare is recommended
- How soon you can use it again
- Whether a trained technician does the job
- Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
What happens on the day
Here’s how a visit generally runs: we arrive at the agreed slot, sheet and mask the area around the job, carry out the work and tidy away. Allow a few hours, depending on the damage. Before leaving, we tell you when it can be used and how to look after it.
- We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
- The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
- The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
- We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
- The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the next day.
How to prepare
- Clear the area around the damage
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
- Keep a parking space free if you can

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.
Advice
When a repair is not the answer
Some jobs are not right for a repair, including:
- Metal that has corroded all the way through
- Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
- Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

Work for landlords and builders
We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, photos and access details and we’ll arrange it.
Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.
Why repair rather than replace?
When the bath is otherwise sound, repairing beats replacing. It’s quicker, cheaper and far less disruptive, and you keep the bath you chose. Where the whole surface is tired, we may suggest re-enamelling instead. Our bath repair starts from £95. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is typically a fraction of the price, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Repairs by material
Pressed steel
Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Exposed steel rusts fast, particularly by the plughole, so repair chips early.
Composite and resin
Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.
For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.
Looking after it afterwards
It’s all simple stuff, just a few sensible habits:
- Don’t leave razors or cans standing in the bath
- Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
- Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
- Rinse it down after each bath
Do not leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, because they can mark the enamel. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.
Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, so water can’t get in. Remove it before the repair.
