Coloured bath resurfacing for Alvecote homes

Coloured bath resurfacing at your home in Alvecote

A full suite is generally done in one to two days. We resurface the bath, basin and tray in place, so there is no plumbing or tiling. If you are dealing with faded or patchy colour and a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom, we can usually put it right.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything isn’t right, ring us and we will come back. Treat it like any resurfaced bath: mild cleaners and no suction mats.

Work for landlords and builders

Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, photos and access details and we’ll arrange it.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Resurfacing from £350. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:

  • The material
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Access to the area

Set against the cost of replacement, repairing typically costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

How to get a fixed quote

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Please include:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • A photo taken from further back

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three pictures using our quote form or call us. We will say immediately if a repair is the right fix.

FAQs for Alvecote

Can you turn my avocado bath white?

Yes. It’s resurfaced in white where it stands.

Can you quote from pictures?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures cannot show what we need.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Generally, yes. The old repair comes out first.

What areas do you cover?

All of Staffordshire, and the rest of the UK. There’s no extra charge for travel.

Do you charge for travel?

There’s no separate call-out charge. Your fixed quote includes everything.

What happens once I’ve sent pictures?

You get a fixed quote and available dates. If we need another angle, we will ask.

Does someone need to be in?

We need someone to let us in. You don’t need to watch us work.

What do you need from me?

Photos of the damage, a photo of the entire suite and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

What happens on the day

We work cleanly and quietly, so you can carry on at home. Protection goes down first, then the job itself takes a day or two, depending on how many items. Before we leave, we explain how soon it can be used and how to care for it.

  1. First we protect the bathroom and set up ventilation.
  2. Each item is cleaned, degreased and any chips repaired.
  3. The surface is prepared and primed.
  4. We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
  5. Once cured, normally by the day after, the suite is ready.

Before we arrive

  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before

Ask for a price

There’s no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from photos: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and plenty are still in good condition. It’s typically the colour that dates them, not the condition.

  • A suite that does not match a new bathroom
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a coloured suite means a plumber, a tiler and new taps. Refinishing it in white changes the colour without taking anything out. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Why Alvecote customers choose us

  • One visit for most repairs
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • Same prices wherever you are
  • Colour-matched on site

What a repair can’t fix

Not everything can be repaired, and we’d rather say so up front. We can’t fix:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured shower trays
