Coloured bath resurfacing for Appin homes

Repair or replace: which is better?

Replacing a coloured suite involves new sanitaryware, a plumber and a tiler. Refinishing it in white changes the colour without taking anything out. Resurfacing from £350, with every job priced individually. Set against the cost of replacement, repairing normally costs far less, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

Why book with us

  • We leave the room as we found it
  • Nothing taken out or refitted
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
  • No extra charge for your area

How we handle coloured bath resurfacing in Appin

Most suites take one or two days. Everything is resurfaced where it stands, so there is no plumbing or tiling. Our repair technicians work on avocado, pampas and pink baths, whole bathroom suites and coloured shower trays, and people most often call us about a suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom and selling or letting a home with an old suite.

You’re covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we explain what it covers before booking. Care for the new finish like a re-enamelled bath: gentle cleaners, no suction mats.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

How we price coloured bath resurfacing

Resurfacing from £350. Each job gets its own fixed price. These are the things that affect it:

  • The material and finish
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • How many areas need work
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Quotes from your pictures

Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • Natural light rather than flash
  • A wider photo showing the whole suite
  • The material, if you know it
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

We price from photos so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and we’ll come back with a fixed figure.

Honest limits

It helps to know what we can’t do too:

  • The inside of a toilet bowl, unless we’ve agreed it will last
  • Items cracked right through
  • Fittings and taps (these are masked, not recoloured)

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Whole bathroom suites
  • Avocado, pampas and pink baths
  • Coloured basins
  • Coloured shower trays

How it works

On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we will take it from there. Most visits take one to two days for a full suite.

  1. We protect the room and ventilate it.
  2. We clean, degrease and repair any chips.
  3. We key the surface and apply a bonding primer.
  4. We spray on the new finish in white or your chosen colour.
  5. We leave everything to cure, usually until the day after.

Before we arrive

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat

Ask for a price

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job.

Advice

Your questions about coloured bath resurfacing in Appin

Do you come to Appin?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to Appin for every job, with no extra charge for travel.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged before the end of a tenancy.

Will there be a smell?

There may be a mild smell during the work, which fades afterwards.

Will it make a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we have finished.

Can landlords book you?

Yes, frequently. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

What happens after I send pictures?

You get a fixed quote and available dates. If we need another angle, we’ll ask.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Typically, when the rest is in good condition. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.

For landlords and businesses

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Argyll and Bute and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

Signs you need coloured bath resurfacing in Appin

Avocado, pampas and pink suites were everywhere in the 70s and 80s, and many are still sound. It’s generally the colour that dates them, not the condition.

It’s worth getting a quote if you see:

  • A suite that doesn’t match a new bathroom
  • Selling or letting a home with an old suite
  • A dated coloured suite you’d like in white
  • Faded or patchy colour

What to look for in a quote

  • What the guarantee covers, and for how long
  • Aftercare advice
  • Who turns up on the day
  • How the colour is matched
